    • A rocker-type electrical switch of the kind known as a "quiet switch" includes a manually depressible rocker having two opposed contact surfaces at a small angle to each other from which rocker depends a rocker arm terminating in a rocker cam. A slider positioned intermediately of the rocker and the rocker cam is moved back and forth by side-to-side movements of the rocker arm and opens and closes one or more pairs of contacts. Rocker movement is controlled by a rocker cam leaf spring engaging the rocker cam which spring has a cammed profile traversed by the rocker cam to slow the switch, lock the rocker and provide other desirable effects. The rocker cam spring is housed in a spring chamber longer than itself, allowing the rocker cam spring to float.

    • An electrically heatable fixed rear window of a motor vehicle has resistance heating strips extending over part of the window area and a bus bar which electrically connects the resistance heating strips to each other and provides a contact on the window which cooperates with, and a counter-contact on the motor vehicle body which is connected to an electrical power source such as the motor vehicle battery.The counter-contact on the motor vehicle body comprises a compression spring-loaded pin which moves in the direction perpendicularly of the window surface, which is connected at its rear end to a power cable connected to the electrical power source and which is operatively connected to the bus bar at its front end surface.

    • A pair of toggle links in a high amperage molded case circuit breaker are driven over center in response to the discharge of a closing spring for pivoting a plurality of blades and closing the breaker contacts. A latch link pivotally connected to the upper toggle link also is engaged by a pivotable latch along an arcuate surface on the latch so that shock forces are transmitted along a radial line of the latch for minimizing inadvertent rotational forces on the latch. The latch release force is rendered dependent on the spring force exerted through the links from the blade overtravel springs and the coefficient of friction of the latch arcuate surface. The force exerted through the links is controlled by an adjustable stop having an inclined surface engaging the pivot connection between the toggle links. Large movements of the stop provide small changes in the inclined surface position relative the pivot connection to provide small changes in the overcenter position. An adjustment assembly controls the distance the latch pivots for disengaging the latch link and a spring associated with the adjustment assembly provides additional shock isolation. Helical coil springs of cadmium copper alloy between the blades and a journal serve to eliminate pigtail connections for the blades.

    • A toggle switch comprises a casing including a bottom plate of an insulating material through which extend a common terminal as well as first and second transfer terminals. A rod-shaped movable contact member is retained on the common terminal intermediate its length for seesaw motion for causing the movable contact member to contact the first and the second transfer terminals alternately. An interposing piece of an insulating material is disposed on the movable contact member and is engaged by a pusher which is resiliently urged toward the terminals and is displaced toward the first or the second transfer terminal relative to the common terminal under the control of operating means. Such operation produces the seesaw motion of the interposing piece and the movable contact member.
