摘要： PURPOSE:To produce high sound pressure with a small number of ultrasonic vibrators and also to obtain the sharper directivity, by arraying horns containing ultrasonic vibrators so that these horns form a forcal point in the radiating direction. CONSTITUTION:Each horn 4 contains a ultrasonic vibrators 3. Then these horns 4 are arrayed so that the center axis of each horn 4 forms a focal point in the radiating direction and that the sound wave radiation centers of vibrators 3 form a spherical part. With formation of such an array, the sound pressure of a high level can be produced with a small number of ultrasoni vibrators. Furthermore a directional angle chracteristic is narrowed and the sharper directivity can be obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a fine picture, by optionally selecting the opening areas and thickness of plural transducers to transmit/receive ultrasonic pulse beams and controlling the focal distance and frequency of the beams. CONSTITUTION:Electric signal to acoustic wave converters 12, 14, 16 laminated on the surface of a damping layer 10 of an ultrasonic probe are concentrically arranged and have different opening areas and different thickness respectively. In accordance with the increment of the opening area, the focal distance is also increased and the detectors have individual resonance frequency reversely proportional to the thickness. If the transducer 12 having the min. opening area and thickness is excited, the ultrasonic pulse beam transmitted from the detector 12 is focused on the shortest focus 100 and has the highest frequency. When the transducers 12, 14, 16 are simultaneously excited, the areas and thickness are made maximum and long focus 300 and low frequency are obtained. Thus the high frequency pulse beam is used for a part located on a long focus to obtain a picture having high resolusion and the low frequency pulse beam is used for a part located on a long focus to prevent the picture from the reduction of sensitivity.
