摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a compact marine variable pitch propeller allowing connection to a relatively short propeller shaft and having a torque limiting device. CONSTITUTION:In a recessed section 26 where a sleeve 18 splined to the outer surface of a propeller shaft 4 and a propeller boss 12 surrounding the outer surface of the sleeve 18 are jointed to each other via damper rubber 20 laid in between and in such state as superposed thereon, while the section 26 being formed on the outer surface of the boss 12 so as to have a bottom close to the outer surface of the rubber 20, a propeller blade is rotatably supported on a blade shaft 33 parallel to the propeller shaft 4.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prescribe the center of rotational movement without enlarging a propeller boss by fixedly securing a holding plate pressing the outside face of a synchronous ring to propeller blades, and providing a rotational movement guide part rotatationally movably journaling the synchronous ring on the holding plate. SOLUTION: All propeller blades 32 are linked with each other by a synchronous device 41, in this case, the synchronous ring 43 of the synchronous device 41 is journaled with the guide hole 46a of a holding plate 46 fixedly secured to a propeller boss 12 in rear of a thrust washer 22 in the axial direction, and the center of rotational movement is prescribed. Hereby, the synchronous ring 43 is sufficiently approached to the outer circumferential face of the thrust washer 22 without interfering with the other members, the synchronous ring 43 is made into small diameter, in its turn the propeller boss 12 is made into small diameter, and hence rotational resistance in water can be reduced.
