摘要： Methods for forming a thermoplastic film with an attached closure strip are disclosed. The film can be used to produce zippered reclosable plastic bags. The methods include providing a thermoplastic film web having a sealing surface and a closure strip having a binding surface, both being in a non-melted condition. The film web and the closure strip are aligned in non-overlapping relationship and a heated thermoplastic binder layer is positioned on the film web sealing surface and on the closure strip binding surface quickly after extrusion. The hot binder layer transfers enough heat to the closure strip and to the film web to melt the closure strip binding surface and the film web sealing surface. Pressure is applied to seal the closure strip to the film web. An apparatus for practicing the method and a reclosable bag formed from the thermoplastic film with attached closure strips are also disclosed.

摘要： A flexible container is provided for the storage and mixing together of diluents and medicaments. The container incorporates multiple compartments, separated by peelable seals, in which the diluents and medicaments are stored. The container is constructed of thermoplastic materials having high oxygen and moisture barrier properties which allows the container to be stored for extended periods of time without degrading the contents. The seals are ruptured by manipulation of the container to thereby mix the contents together for delivery through standard IV arrangement to a patient. The seals are constructed to provide a non-linear resistance characteristic to hydraulic pressure, which causes the seal to peel open completely along its length. The container is folded-over along the line of one of the seals and also includes a locking tab and retaining slot to secure the bag in a folded-over condition.

The apparatus includes a slider guide having a channel running the length thereof. The channel has a cross section that allows passage therethrough of sliders slidably mounted to a tape of connected slider-zipper assemblies. A tape drive mechanism is located at the outlet of the slider guide. The tape drive mechanism includes a pair of rollers that form a nip therebetween. The zipper flanges of the tape are threaded through the nip. The rollers have respective grooves that form a space for passage of the sliders as the tape is advanced by the rollers. The zipper tape with sliders exits the tape drive mechanism and is drawn into a zipper flange sealing position by a tape transfer assembly comprising a bank of drive rollers having silicone surfaces in contact with the zipper tape. The drive rollers have peripheral grooves that oppose a longitudinal groove in a shelf, the zipper profile being captured between the opposing grooves.

摘要： A method and apparatus for making reclosable plastic bags is provided. In the method and apparatus, a fastener is attached to a moving flat web of plastic film, preferably in the direction of web movement and near the center of the web. A plurality of sliders are mounted to the fastener either before or after the fastener is attached to the flat web, but prior to conveying the web to a FFS machine. The flat web, with the slider-operated fastener already attached thereto, is then conveyed to a vertical or horizontal FFS machine where the flat web is formed into bags, and the bags are successively filled and sealed.
