    • A plasma display panel includes a first substrate, and a second substrate opposing the first substrate. A plurality of address electrodes are formed on the first substrate along a first direction, and a plurality of barrier ribs are mounted between the first and second substrates and defining a plurality of discharge cells that are formed into a plurality of rows along a second direction which is substantially perpendicular to the first direction. Non-discharge regions are formed between the respective rows of the discharge cells, and a plurality of transverse barrier ribs are formed along the second direction respectively within the non-discharge regions. Each of a plurality of phosphor layers is formed in a respective one of the discharge cells. Display electrodes are formed on the second substrate. At least one end of each of the transverse barrier ribs includes an annular branched segment.

Flow resistance is reduced when an impure gas is exhausted and when the discharge gas is injected into the panel, and the product yield and quality of the display are improved, and light emission efficiency is improved and degradation of the phosphor material is avoided.

    • A plasma display panel is disclosed, which prevents luminance from being reduced, prevents error discharge from occurring due to crosstalk, and improves exhaust ability. Alternatively, a predetermined groove is formed in a predetermined position of a dielectric layer in a lattice shaped barrier structure. In addition to these barriers, second barriers are formed at a greater width or at constant intervals. Thus, exhaust ability can be improved, and error discharge due to crosstalk can be prevented from occurring. Also, luminance in corner portions of the cell can be improved, and contrast can be improved even if a black matrix is not formed.

    • A plasma display panel design having a display area and a peripheral area surrounding the display area. Within the display area are discharge cells, and within the peripheral area are dummy cells that serve as a location where fluorescent paste is injected onto in an early stage of making the display, enabling the injection amount and injection speed from a nozzle to stabilize before the fluorescent material is deposited into the discharge cells. A surface area that the fluorescent material is deposited on in the peripheral area is increased to provide for a more rapid stabilization of the injection pressure and injection amount of the paste in the making of the display. A sufficient gap is present between a sealant and the dummy structure so that air and foreign matter can be expelled.
