    • Mobile phones are in a trend of having thinner configuration due to emphasis on the design. Thus, in order to meet this demand, the present invention aims to thin the key sheet portion as much as possible. The present invention provides a thin key sheet 1 comprising a key top 2 made of a metal or a resin having on the front surface or the back surface indications such as letters, symbols, graphics or the like indicating the functions of keys, a key pad 3 made of a material having rubber elasticity such as a silicone rubber or various elastomers for supporting/fixing the key top, an EL element 8 formed on the back surface of the key top by means of printing, and a printed circuit board 5 on which a switch element is provided at its surface for turning ON/OFF of an electric circuit by the pressing of the key top 2 and on which a circuit pattern involved therewith is formed.

    • A panel unit for a dealing board has a display and a keyboard unit provided with buttons. The display is divided into individual indications which display function names corresponding to the buttons. The keyboard unit has a printed substrate arranged on the display, fixed contacts which form switches provided for the buttons, and electric conductive contact rubber located on the printed substrate and provided with moving contacts opposing the fixed contacts. A panel is positioned on the electric conductive rubber and provided with the buttons. The panel has holes, the buttons are fitted into the holes to be vertically movable so that the fixed contacts of the printed substrate come into contact with the movable contacts of the electric conductive rubber. The buttons are provided with an engagement portion for preventing the buttons from coming off the panel and the electric conductive contact rubber and the printed contact have relief holes in which the buttons are fitted when the engagement portion holds the buttons, as well as belt-like through holes for making the individual indications corresponding to the buttons visible.

    • In a keyboard, an elastic diaphragm switch array and logic, including strobe and rollover protection. The switch includes a diaphragm, a separator, and a switch card. The diaphragm comprises a gold plated continuous sheet of thin spring material and serves as a ground or voltage plane. The switch card has a gold plated pie pattern or switch array at each key location, with generally as many pie sections as there are bits in the code to be produced. Each pie section is wired directly by double sided wiring and through-holes in the switch card to the appropriate output code pin. No decoding or encoding logic is required to produce the code. Strobe logic is provided for assuring that all pie sections have made contact with the diaphragm and rollover protection logic is provided for assuring that only one key is depressed. A key button is provided for pressing the diaphragm through the separator to make contact with the switch card pie pattern.
