摘要： A unique conductivity pattern is applied to printable articles to provide a "signature" for later verifying the authenticity of the printable articles. Preferably, the conductivity pattern is hidden from sight and differs from other conductivity patterns applied to other printable articles in an effectively random manner. Capacitive sensors read the conductivity patterns, and the resulting data for recording the signatures reflects not only details of the conductivity patterns themselves but also the characteristics of the capacitive sensors and their use.

摘要： A verification device for a security thread embedded within currency paper includes a pair of capacitive plates having applied thereto time-varying electronic signals that are 180 DEG out of phase. Disposed between the plates is a sensor element comprising a cylindrical wire dimensionally equal to the security thread. A guard electrode surrounds the sensor; the guard, sensor, and plates comprising a capacitance bridge. When the security thread in the currency is adjacent to the sensor and in proximity thereto, a capacitance imbalance occurs in the bridge. Electronic circuitry is responsive to this imbalance and provides an indication of a valid security thread embedded within the proffered currency paper.

摘要： A capacitive data storing method is disclosed. A fuse circuit section is provided in advance by a printing technique. Fixed information including a card number and printed on the fuse circuit section different with each of goods such as a card, and consequently identification of goods is reliable. 摘要： Security can be provide for lottery tickets having data printed thereon in a bar code or other machine readable media by covering only a portion of the bar code with a scratch-off material. Removing the scratch-off material, or in some cases only a portion of the scratch-off material, can permit machine validation of the lottery tickets. For bar codes having a specified level of redundancy, it is desirable to cover at least enough of the bar code so as to prevent the machine reading of ticket validation data encoded in the bar code. Also, a lottery ticket can include a bar code printed on the ticket having both inventory and validation data along with a bar code printed on the front of the ticket including the validation data. All or part of the bar code printed on the front of the ticket can be covered by a scratch-off material.
