    • The present invention provides a sample processing system for analyzing, preprocessing, or carrying out other operations for a biological sample such as blood or urea. With the sample processing system, it is possible to store samples to be stored in the thermally insulated state or specimens required for accuracy control in the thermally insulated state for preventing evaporation of denaturing of the samples and specimens by the unit of a transfer rack. Also it is possible to carry in or out the samples rack by rack according to the necessity.The sample processing system according to the present invention is realized by providing a buffer unit in a cold container having a capability for cold storage and also by accessing a sample rack at random for carrying in or out the rack with a transfer mechanism provided outside the cold container.

    • A method and device for the automated large scale preparation for testing of drug-drug interactions, particularly with determination of IC50 and Ki, as a screening tool enhancement for determining viability of large numbers of compounds as drug candidates. Small samples of specific probe substrates and new compound inhibitors are automatically dispensed en masse into multi-welled reaction plates which are prefilled with thawed human microsomes, buffer and cofactor. The reaction plates are incubated and the reaction products are tested within degradation time limits, for initial biological determinations of relevant interaction effects of the compounds. The device used for the preparations comprises computer controlled multiple liquid handling cannulas, micropipetting members, refrigeration, freezer and temperature controlled incubator units, vacuum filtration device, bar code tracking of the plates, transport mechanisms for movement and manipulation of multiwell plates and sample mixing elements with coordinated timing of all operations within limited time frame testing parameters.

    • An automatic urinalysis system which can be readily installed at an excretion site such as a toilet and by which means a subject itself can test its urine easily at any time and can obtain results of such test. The system comprises a sample collecting means for collecting a sample of urine within a stool or the like at an excretion site, a guiding means for introducing the collected urine sample into a testing area within a body of the system, a urine testing element located within the system body, a contacting means for automatically contacting the urine testing element with the urine sample in the testing area, a urine testing means for automatically testing the urine testing element contacted with the urine sample by the contacting means, a display means for displaying test data from the urine testing means, and a discharging means for discharging the urine sample into the stool after the urine sample has been contacted by the urine testing element.
