    • Thermal recuperation methods, systems, and devices are provided. The methods, systems, and/or devices may provide for: introducing a first fluid into at least a portion of a tank containing a solid; exchanging heat between the solid contained within the tank and the first fluid as the first fluid passes at least around or through the solid; extracting the heated first fluid from at least the portion of the tank containing the solid; and/or passing the heated first fluid with respect to a heat exchanger thermally coupled with a second fluid. The heated first fluid may be cooled as it passes with respect to the heat exchanger and heat may be thermally recuperated between the solid and the second fluid.

    • The disclosed grain harvesting machine has a grain threshing mechanisn, a storage hopper into which grain from the threshing mechanism is transported for temporary storage, and an apparatus for drying the grain while in the storage hopper. The drying apparatus comprises a grain collecting system, a grain drying column, and plenum means for feeding air into the column and system. The grain collecting system is mounted substantially horizontally in the storage hopper proximate to the bottom thereof. It has an outlet and conduit means extending from perimeter portions of the storage hopper to the outlet. The conduit means has inlet openings along its upper portions for entry of grain mechanism by gravity and has grain transport means therewithin for moving grain therethrough to the outlet. The grain drying column is mounted at the outlet of the collecting system and extends upwardly from the outlet. The column has an elevated exit port for discharge of grain therefrom back into the hopper. Within the column is a grain transport means for elevating grain from the outlet of the collecting system to the exit port of the column. Heated air is forced into the drying column and also into the collecting system; and a plenum is employed for this purpose. The heated air removes moisture from the grain.

    • This disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for continuously chilling or cooling mold parts which are subjected to heated products, such as the die elements of a plastic blow molding apparatus. More particularly, the disclosed method and apparatus is adapted to maintain a predetermined mold chilling temperature to permit rapid forming of plastic articles and reduce the dwell time of the plastic article within the mold. The disclosed apparatus includes a heat exchanger-evaporator, a first liquid coolant loop communicating with the heat exchanger and the mold parts to be cooled, wherein low viscosity liquid coolant is pumped through the heat exchanger and the mold parts to chill the mold parts, and a second coolant loop communicating with the evaporator within the heat exchanger and including a compressor, condenser and expansion valve. The coolant in the second coolant loop is evaporated by the expansion valve, within the evaporator of the heat exchanger, to absorb heat from and chill the coolant within the first coolant loop.
