    • A connection assembly for connecting a pipe, rod or pole to a connector, the assembly comprising: a collet having at a first end thereof a collet head having at least one abutment and at the second end thereof a collet collar, the collet having a bore therethrough, the collet bore being dimensioned and configured to receive and fittingly engage the pipe, rod or pole, the collet head being resiliency deformable so as to impinge on the pipe, rod or pole when deformed inwardly, the collet being provided with at least one screw thread on the external surface of the collet; a collet holder having a collet holder bore therethrough, the collet holder bore being dimensioned and configured to receive the collet, the collet holder bore comprising at least one screw thread on the surface thereof which matches the thread of the collet; and optionally a collet deflector dimensioned and configured to receive an abutment of the collet; wherein in use the collet holder and collet are mutually rotatable about a collet screw thread and a collet holder screw thread to cause the collet to engage with the collet deflector, whereby the collet deflector impinges on an abutment of the collet head to deform the collet head, which thereby impinges on and grips the pipe, rod or tube. A connector for use with the connection assembly, and a kit comprising the assembly and connector, are also described.

    • A bite type pipe connection structure is used to connect a large diameter pipe that is previously set as a standard specification. The bite type pipe connection structure includes a spacer 71 that is used for connecting a small diameter pipe P3 and serves as insertion port adjusting means for adjusting a gap between the insertion port 16 and the small diameter pipe P3, a step portion 73 serving as a step portion for small diameter that regulates the position of the tip of the small diameter pipe P3, and insertion-through hole adjusting means for bridging a gap between the insertion-through hole for large diameter of a ferrule for large diameter and the small diameter pipe P3 to adjust the insertion-through hole.     • A bite-in type pipe joint that has a ferrule formed integrally with a joint member with an external thread and prevents damage to an outer surface of the ferrule so as to avoid decrease of air tightness is provided. Also, a refrigerating apparatus and a water heating device each having the bite-in type pipe joint are provided. The bite-in type pipe joint includes a joint member 1 having an internal thread 11 and a joint member 2 having an external thread 21. A ferrule 3 is formed integrally with the joint member 2. By the time the joint members 1, 2 are fastened to each other, the ferrule 3 separates from the joint member 2 and bites into a pipe 4. The joint member 2 has a cylindrical cover 22 that covers the ferrule 3, which has an annular shape. This structure prevents a distal portion 3a and a tapered surface 31 of the ferrule 3 from being damaged when the joint member 2 is handled.
