    • Device for separating overlapping and essentially leaf-shapped items moving in a flow on a belt conveyer (1), at the end of which is connected another belt conveyor (5) moving in the same direction and whose transport surface is located below that of the first conveyer. A counting sensor (6) arranged in the region of the step formed by the two conveyors senses the products to be separated and a catch arrangement (7, 8) associated with the lower conveyer and movable in the direction of transport of the latter can be brought into contact with the rear edge of the last item counted, after counting of a predetermined number of items to be separated. Associated with the return drum (3) of the upper conveyer (1) is a conveyor system which exerts a counter-pressure (9) on the items (2) moving on that drum, said system comprising an endless, elastically deformable pressure belt, guided on two return drums (10, 11) and pressing on the items. The forward return drum (10) of said belt is located at a horizontal distance upstream of the return drum (3) of the belt conveyer (1), essentially at the same height as said drum (3), and is preloaded in an adjustable and/or elastic manner against the region of the step formed by the two conveyors (1, 5).

    • A stacker bundler and a control method thereof are provided to remove paper jam or irregularity of a signature. A stacker bundler(1) comprises a conveyor(2) conveying a signature in a crosswise overlapped state; a small-quantity bundle-stacking device(3) stacking signatures freely falling from the end of the conveyor and bundling the signatures in small quantities; a flow partition device(4) temporarily intercepting a flow of signatures on the conveyor; a pusher(5) pushing bundles of a small quantity downward while intercepting a flow of the signatures by the flow partition device; a large-quantity bundle production part(6) stacking the bundles of a small quantity and producing bundles of a large quantity; and a binding part(7) binding the bundles of a large quantity. The flow partition device has a rolling-type stopper(10) rolling and stopping signatures conveyed; a roller(11) rolling at predetermined speed while passing through a flow of the signatures upward from the signature rolled and stopped by the rolling-type stopper; and a lift plate(12) lifting the signatures on the conveyor. The lift plate is supported by more than a pair of lift drive devices independently driving the upper side or lower side of the lift plate.
