摘要： A two-component bone cement mixing system comprises a cartridge mixer having an interior volume containing a first predetermined quantity of a solid bone cement component under vacuum pressure; an ampoule containing a second predetermined quantity of a liquid bone cement component; a fluid transfer element for fluidically connecting the cartridge mixer and the ampoule for transfer of the liquid bone cement component to the cartridge mixer; and a plug element, receivable within the ampoule, for automatically hermetically sealing the fluid transfer element against passage of a material therethrough upon completion of the transfer of the second predetermined quantity of the liquid bone cement component into the cartridge mixer. The two-component bone cement mixing system allows in vacuo mixing of liquid monomeric and solid polymeric bone cement components without air being incorporated into the mixture and insures the prevention of air passage into the cartridge mixer during and/or after monomer transfer.

摘要： An apparatus for mixing tank contents including sedimentary material is disclosed. The apparatus includes an agitator connected to a support including a plurality of detachable sections. The apparatus further includes a frame adjacent an opening in a top of the tank. The apparatus also includes an actuatable connector for interconnecting the frame to the support. The connector is configured to be actuated in order to lift a first portion of the support above the frame while a second portion of the support below the frame is maintained, to thereby cause a gap between the first portion and the second portion enabling at least one of the detachable sections to be inserted into the gap. The apparatus also includes at least one actuator for causing the connector to lift the first portion in order to cause the gap, and for lowering the first portion and the second portion.

摘要： A method of evacuating a refinery tank containing waste with solid constituents is disclosed. The method includes inserting an agitator on a boom through a first opening on a side of the refinery tank and agitating waste in a first area of the refinery tank to cause the waste in the first area to have a first viscosity lower than a second viscosity of waste in a second area at a periphery of the first area. The method further includes removing agitated waste from the first area while maintaining the waste of the second viscosity in the second area, thereby forming a safe room in the refinery tank. The method also includes expanding the first opening toward the floor of the safe room to enable entry of a movable excavator into the safe room of the refinery tank and removing waste of the second viscosity from the second area of the refinery tank.

摘要： The invention relates to a device in a mixing vessel (1) intended for the preparation of bone cement and comprising a mixing bowl (3) provided with tightly sealing lid (2). Rotatably supported in the lid (2) is at least one mixing element (4, 4′, 4″), which is designed to sweep over substantially the whole internal chamber of the mixing bowl (3) in order to carefully mix the two constituents of the bone cement with one another. There is, furthermore, a connection to a vacuum source in order to create a vacuum in the chamber of the bowl (3) in connection with the preparation. One of the constituents of the bone cement may be situated in the internal chamber prior to preparation and the other may be delivered to the said chamber via an aperture in the lid (2) by means of the vacuum prevailing in the internal chamber. The device further comprises a drive member operatively connected to the mixing element.
