    • A locator system is disclosed comprising a wireless communicator 100 that attaches to a plurality of jacket covers (200,Fig.1) / electronic devices (200a-h,Fig.4), wherein each jacket / device has a unique identifier. The wireless communicator 100 includes: a positioning system 101 identifying the location of the wireless communicator; a clock 102 identifying date and time; and a log manager 121 coupled with the positioning system and clock for recording a plurality of entries in a history log 116. Each entry includes: a jacket / device identifier; a location; and a date and time. The wireless communicator 100 also includes a controller 110 notifying the log manager 121 of the occurrence of a log trigger event, wherein a new entry is recorded in the history log 116 when a log trigger event notification is received from the controller 110. The positioning system may comprise GPS. The electronic device may be a camera, media player or PDA. Trigger events may comprise attachment detachment of a jacket / device; powering on or off the communicator; dialing a phone number; sending SMS/MMS messages; playing audio/video files; arriving departing from a location of interest.
