摘要： The present invention is to provide a metal oxide.organopolysiloxane hybrid powder, wherein a silicon atom of organopolysiloxane is bonded by covalent bond with a metal atom through an oxygen atom and complicated homogeneously. Titanium and/or zirconium is desirably used as the above mentioned metal atom. Especially, a porous titanium oxide.organopolysiloxane hybrid powder whose specific surface area is larger than 50 m 2 /g is desirably used. Said hybrid powder can be produced by generating sol by hydrolysis of metal alkoxide, adding reactive organopolysiloxane to said sol to generate hybrid sol solution, then precipitating it. The method to produce titanium oxide.silica composite by the heat treatment of porous titanium oxide.organopolysiloxane hybrid powder can be also mentioned. By making hybrid, the optical properties of metal oxide powder can be controlled and dispersing ability, dispersing stability, water repellency and hard feeling can be improved. By blending this hybrid powder in cosmetic composition, the cosmetic composition which is excellent at feeling at the actual use, natural makeup, long lasting and ultra violet ray screening effect can be obtained.

摘要： Proposed is a powder of silica-cerium oxide composite particles useful as an ultraviolet shielding agent in a resin composition or as a sunscreening agent in a cosmetic composition. The cerium oxide-based composite particles consist of cerium oxide and 5 to 60% by weight of amorphous silica calculated as SiO2. The composite particles are prepared by the addition of sodium silicate and an inorganic acid to an aqueous slurry containing precipitates of cerium hydroxide so as to precipitate amorphous silica on the particles of cerium hydroxide followed by drying and calcination of the particles separated from the reaction mixture. Various formulations of cosmetic compositions compounded with the silica-cerium oxide composite particles are disclosed.

摘要： A cover (18) is pivotably attached to a case body (1). Male thread portions (7) of a multiple thread and unthreaded portions are alternately formed on a peripheral wall (6) of a cosmetic container section of the case body. A ring (41) is rotatably attached to the cover (18) and externally fitted to the peripheral wall (6). The ring (41) has female thread portions (51) of a multiple thread intermittently formed. The female and male thread portions (51,7) are engageable and disengageable. An inner cover (61) made of an elastic material is attached to the lower portion of the cover (18) so that the inner cover (61) is brought into press contact with an open edge of the peripheral wall. A space (60) is formed between the cover (18) and the inner cover (61) so that the inner cover (61) is elastically deformed and expanded. When the female and the male thread portions (51,7) are engaged with each other and the ring (41) is rotated to a closed position, the cover (18) approaches the case body (1) so that the inner cover (61) is brought into press contact with the open edge of the peripheral wall. When the temperature within the cosmetic container section (14) is increased, the inner cover (61) is elastically expanded upwards to increase the volume within the cosmetic container section (14). Thus, an increase in pressure within the cosmetic container section (14) is suppressed. Accordingly, even if this airtight compact case is used in an environment subjected to wide temperature variation, it is possible to reliably maintain the sealing condition of the cosmetic container section (14).

More in detail, relates to the metal oxide doped cerium oxide composed of cerium oxide in which metal ion having larger ion radius than that of Ce and/or lower valence metal ion than Ce , such as Ca , Y , La , Nd , Eu , Tb , Sm , Mg , Sr , Ba , Ce and so on are doped. Said metal oxide doped cerium oxide can be prepared at the temperature lower than 60 DEG C and in the condition of pH higher than 5 by reacting aqueous solution of cerium salt, aqueous solution of metal ion having larger ion radius than that of Ce and/or lower valence metal ion than Ce and alkali, then adding oxidizing agent. Further, said metal oxide doped cerium oxide can be blended to resin composition or cosmetic composition and can display and ultraviolet shielding effect without spoiling transparency at visible ray region.
