    • The invention is related to a method for determining an insulation resistance (RI, RI1, RI2) of an electric DC circuit having at least a first and a second terminal (1, 2), comprising:
      a) a measurement cycle comprising
      a1) measuring at least one first terminal voltage sample (V1) between the first terminal (1) and a reference potential (7) and at least one first high voltage sample (HV1) between the first and the second terminal (1, 2),
      a2) measuring at least one second terminal voltage sample (V2) between the second terminal (2) and the reference potential (7) and at least one second high voltage sample (HV2) between the first and the second terminal (1, 2),
      a3) measuring samples (I x ) of the current (I) drawn between the first and the second terminal (1, 2), the current samples (I x ) are taken at least immediately before and after voltage samples of the measurement cycle are taken,

      b) verifying whether the change of the measured current (I) is not exceeding a predetermined change rate, using the current samples (I x ),
      c) calculating a total insulation resistance (RI) from the first and second terminal voltage samples (V1, V2) and the first and second high voltage samples (HV1, HV2) of the measurement cycle and from resistance values (R1, R2, S1, S2) of a measurement circuit (5, 6),
      d) calculating a first insulation resistance (RI1) between the first terminal (1) and the reference potential (7) and a second insulation resistance (RI2) between the second terminal (2) and the reference potential (7), each of the first and second insulation resistances (RI1, RI2) being calculated from the total insulation resistance (RI), the first and second terminal voltage samples (V1, V2) and the first and second high voltage samples (HV1, HV2) of the measurement cycle and from resistance values (R1, R2, S1, S2) of the measurement circuit (5, 6).

      Further, an insulation resistance measurement circuit is disclosed.
