    • PURPOSE:To prevent the clogging of an inside pipe by providing a double pipe having a hermetic type eater cooling jacket construction and constituting the inside pipe of a material having poor slag adhesiveness. CONSTITUTION:A suction head 2 is constituted of the double pipe 9 consisting of the inside pipe 7 and the outside pipe 8 to form the hermetic type water cooling jacket 10 between the inside and outside pipes 7 and 9. A mouthpiece 12 having the inside surface formed to a bell mouth shape is attached to the bottom end of the pipe 9 to constitute a suction port 13 for the slag. The inside pipe 7 and the mouthpiece 12 are formed of the material having the poor adhesivness to the slag of molten zinc, more specifically, a stainless steel material or copper material chrome-plated on the inside surface, etc. Cooling water is passed into the jacket 10 by utilizing sockets 11 and the slag is vacuum- sucked by the head 2. The slag is cooled and solidified by the cooling water of the jacket 10 and is separated and conducted to a slag separator. The clogging of the inside pipe 7 is thus prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the suction and removal efficiency of scum, by jetting a facelike air current onto the plane orthogonal to the head axis from the tip of the head when scum floated on the surface of the molten metal is sucked and removed by the suction head. CONSTITUTION:When scum on the surface of the molten metal is sucked and removed by suction head 1, cylindrical outside cylinder 7 is provided at the tip part of cylindrical main body 5 of the head to form annular gas chamber 6. At the tip of chamber 6, nozzle device 10 provided with jetting hole 9 consisting of flange body 8 and tip part 7a is formed in the part brought into contact with tip 5a of suction head 1. When scum is sucked from suction entrance 1a at the tip of the suction head, compressed air is pressed into annular gas chamber 6 from gas supplying tube 12, and facelike air current 13 is formed on the face orthogonal to the axis of cylindrical material 5 of head 1 from jetting hole 9 at the tip. The suction air current to the suction head passes between said air current 13 and the surface of scum to move scum toward suction entrance 1a, and thus, scum is sucked with high efficiency without a wasteful air current.
