    • A cross member passes a longitudinal member. The cross member is connected, on its outer end, to a side sill assembly and includes a connecting portion that divides the cross member into a remote cross member portion from the outer end of the cross member, and the other cross member portion. A reinforcement element extends through the connecting portion into the remote cross member portion and terminates in at its inner end spaced by a gap from a top wall of the longitudinal member, and it extends into the other cross member portion and terminates in at its outer end in the neighborhood of the side sill assembly. It is connected to an upper inner wall of the remote cross member portion, but spaced from an upper inner wall of the other cross member portion.

    • The optical apparatus includes an image stabilizing lens shiftable with respect to an optical axis, a movable lens movable in an optical axis direction, first and second actuators shifting the image stabilizing lens, and a third actuator moving the movable lens. The first, second and third actuators include a magnet and a coil. When viewed in the optical axis direction, the first and second actuators are disposed in a first area and the third actuator is disposed in a second area, the first and second areas being opposite to each other with respect to the optical axis. The first and second actuators are respectively disposed in areas in the first area opposite to each other with respect to a straight line passing the optical axis and the third actuator. This arrangement enables reduction of magnetic interference between the first and second actuators and the third actuator.

    • A perforator includes a perforating unit, a chad recovery/delivery unit, a chad storage unit, a chad guiding unit, and a shielding unit. The perforating unit perforates a sheet-shaped recording medium. The chad recovery/delivery unit delivers a chad perforated by the perforating unit to the chad storage unit via discharge channels in the chad guiding unit. The chad storage unit stores the delivered chad. The shielding unit includes a shielding body and a shielding face fixed on an end thereof. The shielding unit releases a shielding against the discharge channels to discharge the chad though an opening in an interior of the shielding body to the chad storage unit when the shielding unit is in a first position. When the shielding unit is in a second position, the shielding face blocks the discharge channels to prevent the chad from being discharged to the chad storage unit.

    • A polymer film producing apparatus has a moving support on which dope containing polymer and solvent is cast to form a cast film. The cast film is stripped from the support to obtain a polymer film containing the solvent, and the polymer film is dried. A first gas flow duct has gas nozzles for causing a first dry gas to flow toward the cast film. A second gas flow duct has a gas outlet disposed downstream from the gas nozzles, and positioned higher than a height of the gas nozzles relative to the support, for causing a second dry gas to flow toward the cast film in a moving direction of the support. Furthermore, the first gas flow duct includes a gas blow wall for defining the first flow path by opposing to the support. The gas blow wall has the gas nozzles.
