    • An automatic exposure control apparatus for a camera for metering a reflected light from a film surface in a flash photographing mode and stopping a light emission in accordance with the comparison comprises a flashing device for providing a preliminary light emission, an early main light emission and a late main light emission, a flashing control unit for controlling the flashing device to provide the preliminary light emission in a closed state of a shutter curtain and providing the early main light emission and the late main light emission in sequence after the shutter curtain has been opened, a metering unit for metering a reflected light from the shutter curtain surface at the preliminary light emission and metering a reflected light from the film surface at the early main light emission and the late main light emission, and an exposure control unit for comparing a metering output of the metering device for the preliminary light emission and a metering output for the early main light emission, determining an exposure condition in accordance with the comparison and stopping the late main light emission after the start of the late main light emission in accordance with the exposure condition.

    • A driving device is equipped with a vibration actuator. The vibration actuator includes a roller element, an elastic member and electro-mechanical converting elements, which contact the elastic member. The electro-mechanical converting elements generate a vibration to drive the elastic member. Additionally, the roller element transfers relative movement to at least one element to be moved by contacting a driving part of the vibration actuator and by rotating. The roller element comprising a first part contacting the at least one driving section of the elastic member and a second part, separate from the first part, contacting the at least one element. In operation, the at least one electro-mechanical converting element vibrates the at least one driving section of the elastic member. The at least one driving section transfers the vibration to the first part of the roller element to rotate the roller element and the least one element is moved by rotation of the second part of the roller element.

    • An exposure calculation device for use in a camera is, provided with a light metering device for effecting light metering in each of plural areas divided in the object field and generating a light metering signal, containing information relating to the color of the object in each area. A first judgment device judges, whether the object in each area is colored or uncolored based on the light metering signal, and determines colored areas in which the object is colored and uncolored areas in which the object is uncolored. A second judgment device judges whether a predetermined uncolored area contains a white or black object, based on the light metering signals from the colored areas and those from the uncolored areas. An exposure value determining device determines the exposure value according to the light metering signals, based on the results of judgment by the first and second judgment devices.
