    • In one embodiment, a pair of spring seats (32) are used at opposite ends of a small coil spring (6) disposed between a power input rotary member and a power output rotary member. Each spring seat (32) includes a receiving side surface for receiving the small coil spring and a contacting surface (36). The contacting surface (36) is formed with slanting portions with V-shaped cross sections (37, 38) mutually perpendicular. The power input rotary member and the power output rotary member each contact a respective slanting section of one of the slanting portions. In another embodiment, a spring seat (40) is provided with a first support portion (43) and a second support portion (44) such that the orientation of the spring seat (40) determines a phase or orientation of the power input rotary member with respect to the power output rotary member. In a third embodiment, a friction element is formed of resin and includes a friction adjusting element (20). The friction adjusting element (20) is provided in the friction generating surface of the body portion (15a) of the friction element by molding and is intended for modifying the friction coefficient thereof. In a fourth embodiment, a first friction element (14) includes a friction generating surface having a coefficient of friction which differs from that of a friction generating surface of a second friction element (15).

    • A damper apparatus which includes a first disc member, at least one coil spring, and a second disc member. The first disc member includes at least one window generally trapezoidal in shape, with at least one coil spring disposed within each window. The coil spring comprises a plurality of wire coils that spirally extend at a generally constant pitch and include first and second end portions, with the end portions being tapered and disposed in the same plane as the last coil on each end of the coil spring. The overall shape of the coil spring when in a torsion and stress free state is generally trapezoidal. The second disc member is disposed on one or both sides of the first disc member and includes a portion which engages with the first and second end portions of the coil spring.

    • A damper disc assembly is provided for transmitting a torque between an input rotary member and an output rotary member, including a hub, a flange, a first spring member, a support member, a second spring member and an input member. The hub is coupled with the output rotary member. The flange is disposed on an outer circumference of the hub, the flange having, on its outer circumferential portion, first and second spring member receiving portions each extending in a circumferential direction. The first spring member is disposed within the first spring member receiving portion. The support member is retained so as to be non-rotatable relative to the hub for supporting the first spring member in the circumferential direction. The second spring member is disposed within said second spring member receiving portion, and has a higher rigidity than that of the first spring member. The input member is coupled with the flange through the second spring member and capable of being coupled with the input rotary member.
