    • A processor device is connected to an electronic endoscope having a CCD. The processor device produces an observation image from an image signal of the electronic endoscope. In image quality adjustment, a menu screen is generated based on an external command. Superimposing the menu screen on the observation image produces a menu composite image. When the menu screen covers an attention area of the observation image in a standard image composition state, the observation image is shifted in the menu composite image.
