摘要： A display section displays a speedometer having a substantially circular shape on an outer circumference of which a speed scale is provided. Then, that point on the outer circumference of the speedometer which indicates a speed at a moment is calculated. Further a speed that is attained at a given time period (e.g. 0.5 second) after the moment if the speed is increased at an acceleration at the moment is calculated. An arc-shaped pointer is displayed, the arc-shaped pointer passing (i) the calculated point of the speed scale, (ii) a middle point between the calculated point of the speed scale and a center of the speedometer, and (iii) the center of the speedometer. With this arrangement, a display device displaying the speedometer allows a driver to easily recognize the speed and an amount of a change therein (i.e. acceleration).

摘要： An onboard display device in accordance with the present invention includes a display section (11) attached to an instrument panel of a vehicle. The section (11) has a second display area (11b) and a first display area (11a). The second display area (11b) shows at least the speed as vehicle condition images indicating the conditions of the vehicle. The first display area (11a) shows a navigation image and other secondary images. The display section (11) measures greater in width than in height with an aspect ratio of 7:3 or greater. The aspect ratio is the width/height ratio of a display area. The onboard display device allows for a visibility-improved simultaneous display of the secondary image, such as a navigation image, and the vehicle condition image, such as a speed display, which presents information on the conditions of the vehicle.

摘要： There is provided a system for showing a multi-directional image of surroundings of transportation device requiring a manual maneuver, when starting the transportation device in a parked state (stop state). The surroundings exhibiting system is constituted by an omnidirectional camera, an ignition instruction detection sensor, a control section including a CPU and a frame memory, and a liquid crystal panel. The omnidirectional camera captures an omnidirectional image of the surroundings around the transportation device in synchronization with a driver's ignition instruction detected by the ignition instruction detection sensor. Further, the captured image data is temporally stored in the frame memory, and the stored image data is sequentially transmitted to the liquid crystal panel so as to be displayed thereon.

A video recording control section, which starts or stops video recording, outputs video recording control information. A signal input section allows moving picture data to be input. Based on the power control information and the video recording control information, an attribute designation section generates attribute information, which is supplied to a recording section. The attribute information contains a program number used for the classification of moving picture files. Any number of moving picture files which may be recorded after the power is turned ON and before the power is turned OFF are assigned with the same program number. The recording section records on a recording medium the attribute information as well as moving picture files representing the moving picture data which has been input via the signal input section. Thus, a file-by-file recording of moving picture data on a recording medium can be achieved in a manner which facilitates the subsequent finding of a desired file.
