    • A method of setting up a secure IPTV session. An Application Server (AS) receives an invite message from an IPTV receiving node such as a mobile telephone or a Set Top Box (STB) to set up an IPTV session. The invite message includes a Bootstrapping Transaction Identifier (BTID) associated with the receiving node. The AS sends an authentication request to a Service Access Protection Server, the authentication request including the BTID. The AS then receives from the Service Access Protection Server an authentication response, which includes a long term key associated with the IPTV receiving node, the long term key having been previously provided to the IPTV receiving node. A request is sent to an IPTV content provider node, the request identifying the IPTV receiving node. The AS then encrypts a media encryption key that is used to encrypt the media sent by the IPTV content provider, using the received long term key. An invite response is then sent to the IPTV receiving node, the response including the encrypted media encryption key.

    • A subscriber database (150) maintains a data record related to a user equipment (300). The subscriber database (150) receives an indication from a control node (110) which is responsible for controlling a plurality of packet switched network accesses. The indication indicates whether voice communication with the user equipment (300) over circuit switched access is supported or unsupported homogeneously for all the network accesses controlled by the control node (110). The subscriber database (150) stores the indication in the data record. If the subscriber database (150) receives a request (506) from a termination control node (160) which is responsible for controlling termination of a voice session with the user equipment (300), it processes the request (506) depending on the stored indication. In some cases, if the indication indicates that voice communication with the user equipment (300) over circuit switched access is unsupported homogeneously, the subscriber database (150) may reject the request (506) without further interaction with other nodes.

    • The invention relates to methods and nodes for supporting a session transfer, for a user equipment, from a circuit switched network to a packets witched network. According to one aspect a method for operating a control node of a core network is provided. The method comprises the steps: requesting from a radio access network of the circuit switched network information on whether a capability of the user equipment related to the session transfer are compatible with a network configuration related to the session transfer; receiving from the radio access network an indication whether the capability of the user equipment and the network configuration are compatible; determining whether to indicate that the session transfer is supported by using the received compatibility indication; and setting an indication whether the session transfer is supported according to the determination.

    • The 3GPP Technical Specifications stipulate that when an emergency call is made to an emergency centre such as a Public Safety Access Point (PSAP), special procedures are applied to ensure that the call is correctly routed and not interrupted. However, there may be situations where the PSAP might want to call-back the UE after the call has been terminated (intentionally or unintentionally terminated). As specified in the standards, an emergency call that is established over the IMS is anchored in the IMS entities that serve the UE through the access network at which the UE was attached when the emergency call was established (i.e. in the visited network, not in the user's Home Network as would be the case for a normal call). The current procedures for call-back to a particular device require the PSAP to call back to the right device by indicating an equipment identifier or instance ID or Globally Routable User Agent Uniform Resource Identifier (GRUU) provided by the UE during emergency call establishment (see TS 24.229). However, this requires an IP-PSAP with enhanced functionality, something unlikely to be deployed in many countries. This problem is solved in that the S-CSCF is informed that an emergency call takes place in the visited network without having to route the initial emergency call through the home network. The P- CSCF (23) in the visited network (21) informs the S-CSCF (26) in the user's home network (22) that the user has established an emergency call with a particular equipment identifier (e.g., contact address, instance ID or GRUU). The S-CSCF (26) uses this information to route a terminating emergency call-back to the right device.
