    • Methods and apparatuses for enabling frequency selective repetition of signals in a telecommunication system in which aggregation of component carriers is applied. Information signals are received 1102 in a first set of frequency bands, which is defined to cover anchor carriers, which can be used by both legacy and non-legacy terminals. Further, information is received 1104 in a second set of frequency bands, which is defined to cover non-anchor carriers, which only can be used by non-legacy terminals. Instructions concerning which frequency band(s) that should be repeated by the repeater node, are also received 1106. Thereafter, the frequency bands indicated in the instructions are filtered out 1110, after which these frequency bands or parts are repeated by the repeater node. This results in enabling frequency selective repetition in a system which may comprise legacy mobile, which limits the interference in the system, which enables higher bitrates and saves energy.

    • The present invention relates to methods and arrangements in a wireless communication system supporting cyclic-prefix insertion, using a symbol sequence comprising a number of samples for transmission over a radio channel that enables the handling of very large signal delay spreads. The symbol sequence is built up by a first symbol with CP and a second symbol with CP. The second symbol is a copy of the first symbol with the samples shifted in a way that makes the two adjacent symbols with CP match in regards to the sample order. The symbol sequence may also comprise a third symbol with CP or more, where the third symbol is a copy of the second symbol and with the samples shifted in analogy with the symbol shift described above. The resulting symbol sequence will thus appear as an extended continuous symbol thanks to the precise cyclic shift that matches adjacent symbols. This allows the receiver to place its FFT window anywhere during the extended symbol, e.g. at the end of the symbol sequence thus making it possible to handle a delay spread longer than the CP duration. It also allows to place e.g. two FFT windows and to combine the extracted signal into one SNR improved signal, while still handling a longer delay spread.

    • In order to transmit a data message in a multi-hop environment, a first station broadcasts or multicasts a transmission to other stations or receivers nearby. After one or more of the stations replies to the first station, the first station selects one of the stations that replied and transmits a command message to the selected station to assume responsibility for forwarding the data message. The data message can accompany the first transmission from the first station, or can accompany the command message. In addition, the replies to the first station can include information regarding costs of routing the data message to its destination. In another variation, the first transmission can include both the data message and a command message designating one of the nearby stations, so that when the designated station receives the first transmission it can immediately forward the data message and then later reply to the first station. This variation also includes a backup mechanism so that if the designated station does not receive the first transmission, one or more of the other nearby stations that did receive the first transmission can reply to the first station, which can then evaluate the replies, select one of the stations that replied, and transmit a command message to the selected station.
