    • PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of seizure, by providing no cavity part, serving as an oil reservoir, only in one portion of a sliding surface in a swash plate, where a large load acts between a shoe and the swash plate, so as to prevent a decrease of a contact area in the portion with the large load acting between the shoe and the swash plate.
      CONSTITUTION: A piston in a compressor is driven by a swash plate 5 through a shoe. This swash plate 5 provides in its relatively sliding surface of the shoe a plurality of cavity parts 20, 20 serving as an oil reservoir. The swash plate, not providing these cavity parts 20, 20 but forming a level surface in a portion 21 in the vicinity of a part where the piston comes to its compression top dead center, prevents the decrease of a contact area between the shoe and the swash plate 5.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the lubricity of the title sliding member by forming a rectangular parallelopiped or cubic oil sump recess on the surface of an Fe-B crystal formed by boronization. CONSTITUTION:The Fe-B crystal layer formed on the surface of an iron-based sliding member by boronization tends to grow almost vertically to the surface of the base metal. The Fe-B crystal layer infiltrates locally and deeply into the base metal structure to form a ruggedness at the interface with the base metal. The-ruggedness forming tendency becomes more pronounced when a low-carbon steel is used. The Fe-B crystal is hard but brittle. When the surface of the Fe-B crystal layer is ground, the Fe-B crystal is broken in the growth direction, and many oil sump recesses are formed. Furthermore, the bottom side surface of the recess has a profile in practically the same direction as the growth direction of the Fe-B crystal, and the surface side of the recess has a gentler profile than the bottom as shown in the figure.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the anti-seizure of a shoe in a swash plate type compressor, which has a contact surface formed thereinwith a hole, and as well to enhance the durability of the swash plate type compressor, by forming the contact surface of the shoe in a convex arcuate shape having a large curvature and formed therein with a hole. CONSTITUTION:A bottomed hole 5 is formed in the center of a shoe 1 in a swash plate type compressor, and the outer surface of the shoe 1 is formed in a convex arcuate shape having a large curvature. The top 2a of the arcuate shape is positioned at the center thereof or at a position slight inward from the latter between the hole 2 and the outer edge of the slide contact surface. The connecting sections between the arcuate shape section and the hole 5 and between the arcuate shape section and the outer peripheral surface of the shoe are in smooth curve shapes. Therefore, the vacuum on an oil film formed on the rear side of the top, is restricted to be effected in the inside of the top 2a as viewed in the direction of movement of the shoe, and therefore, the area of the oil film where no oil film is effected may be reduced, and it is possible to improve the anti-seizure of the shoe.
