    • A process for enabling the production of a particulate composition containing crystalline trehalose dihydrate is provided. Including allowing an α-glycosyltrehalose-forming enzyme to act on liquefied starch derived from a microorganism of the genus Arthrobacter and a trehalose-releasing enzyme derived from a microorganism of the genus Arthrobacter along with a starch debranching enzyme and a cyclomaltodextrin glucanotransferase; allowing glucoamylase to act on the resulting mixture to obtain a saccharide solution containing α,α-trehalose; precipitating crystalline α,α-trehalose dihydrate from the above saccharide solution; collecting the precipitated crystalline α,α-trehalose dihydrate by a centrifuge; and ageing and drying the collected crystals. Cyclomaltodextrin glucanotransferase derived from a microorganism of the genus Paenibacillus or a mutant enzyme thereof is used to increase the α,α-trehalose content in the saccharide solution to over 86.0% by weight, on a dry solid basis, without passing through a fractionation step by column chromatography.

    • There are provided a plurality of etalon filters arranged in concatenation, a light output portion for outputting a light to the etalon filters, and a light input portion to which a light transmitting the etalon filters is inputted, and the plurality of etalon filters have mutually different free spectrum regions. It is possible to realize an optical equalizer for compensating gain wavelength dependency of an optical fiber amplifier, which compensates for optional gain wavelength dependency and has low loss polarized light dependency.

    • First and second independent optical fiber amplifiers, which preferably include first and second rare-earth doped optical fibers, respectively, are provided in a two-stage series or parallel configuration. An optical divider for dividing and taking out pumping light to a side opposite where the pumping light is combined, is coupled to the first optical fiber. An optical combiner combines the divided pumping light with the second optical fiber from a side opposite to a pumping light source. The amplification efficiency is promoted by using the pumping light which has not been used in the one optical fiber amplifier by inputting it to the other, and vice versa. Preferably, wavelength filters block naturally emitting light to first and second optical combining and dividing instruments. Alternatively, wavelength filters block signal light in inputting the divided pumping light to the optical fiber amplifier on the other side.
