摘要： An ink jet type recording apparatus comprises a recording head of ink jet type for jetting ink droplets from a nozzle to form a dot pattern on a recording medium and a cleaning unit which is moved in and out of the path of movement of the recording head when required, and made up of a spatula-shaped elastic blade member and a water-absorbing rubbing member bonded to the member. In the case where the nozzle surface of the recording head is to be cleaned with the rubbing member, the cleaning operation is carried out with the rubbing member wetted with ink. In cleaning the nozzle surface with the blade member, the latter is abutted against the recording head as it is.

摘要： The invention relates to a novel iron complex bearing a cyclic amine as ligand; and a process for the production of polymers by polymerizing a radical-polymerizable monomer in the presence of the iron complex and a radical generator. The invention aims at providing a process by which a polymer having a chemically convertible functional group at the end can be produced from a radical-polymerizable monomer and which permits the production of a block copolymer and a process for recovering, after polymerization, an iron complex into a solvent at a high recovery ratio. The aim can be solved by providing a novel iron complex, a process for producing a polymer in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator by using the iron complex as the polymerization catalyst, a process for the production of a block copolymer which is subsequent to the polymerization for producing the above polymer, and a process for recovering the iron complex easily and simply. The invention provides an iron complex useful in producing a polymer by polymerizing a radical-polymerizable monomer; and a process for the production of polymers with the iron catalyst.

摘要： A printer includes a cleaning mechanism that reliably performs an operation of cleaning a liquid ejecting head with a small amount of driving energy. The cleaning mechanism includes a cap manufactured by coinjection molding of a core part and an elastic part. The cap includes a bottom surface, an outer wall, and a partition wall dividing a cap inner space surrounded by the outer wall into two. A ratio of the elastic part in the partition wall is higher than that in the outer wall. With this structure, the partition wall is more elastically deformable than the outer wall. When the cap comes into contact with a nozzle surface of a recording head and covers nozzle rows, the outer wall comes into contact with the nozzle surface with a larger stress compared with the partition wall, and seals chambers where the nozzle rows on the nozzle surface are exposed.

摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus having a capping unit for sealing the nozzle formation face of a recording head and sucking and discharging ink from the recording head by the action of a negative pressure from a suction pump and a wiping member capable of wiping out the nozzle formation face and a cleaning control method of the recording apparatus are provided. In the recording apparatus, a well-known atmosphere valve placed in a capping unit of is eliminated, so that occurrence of a large amount of bubbles in the capping unit as the atmosphere valve is opened can be avoided. As the atmosphere valve is eliminated, a capping state is released with waste ink stored in the capping unit, but waste ink leaked from the capping unit is prevented from remaining in the vicinity of the outer peripheral surface of a cap member, and contaminating of recording paper, etc., by the remaining waste ink can be minimized.
