    • A delay time stabilization circuit is used in a timing generator which provides a reference timing of a semiconductor IC test system. The delay time stabilization circuit includes a delay control circuit, a period generator which generates period signals necessary for DUT (device under test) testing, a loop forming switch, and a period counter 31 for counting the period in a loop circuit. The calibration process starts by setting the loop forming switch. A start pulse generation circuit generates n pulses when receiving one trigger pulse which pass through a CMOS variable delay circuit and the loop circuit to a 1/n divider circuit. The n pulses are divided by n to produce a signal pulse which triggers the start pulse generation circuit. In the DUT testing, the period generator 11 generates the period signal necessary for the testing which is the same repetition rate as generated by the start pulse generation circuit, resulting in the same power dissipation in the calibration process and the DUT testing.

    • A tape recorder has a base plate, a capstan rotatably supported by the base plate and a flywheel attached to the capstan. The capstan is rotated by a drive device having a motor and a driving gear mounted on the flywheel coaxial with the capstan. A pair of magnetic heads are movably arranged on the base plate. A moving gear is rotatably supported on the base. A cam member and a push member are mounted on the moving gear. The push member engages with one of the magnetic head to move the head as the moving gear is rotated. A pair of transmission gears are arranged on both sides of the moving gear to be able to engage with the driving gear and moving gear. The transmission gears transmit the driving force of the drive device to the moving gear to rotate the moving gear by engaging with the driving gear and moving gear. The engagement of the transmission gears with the driving gear and moving gear and the rotating angle of the moving gear are controlled by a controlling device.

    • A word line number count/display device used in a tape recorder for dictation includes a magnetic head for detecting a special cue signal from a magnetic recording tape while the tape is running in either of two opposite directions, and for generating a detection signal corresponding to the length of a main communication content of dictation recorded on the tape. A time measuring circuit electrically connected to the magnetic head measures the time length corresponding to the length of the main communication content and generates a time period signal corresponding to the measured time length. A dividing circuit electrically connected to the time measuring circuit divides the time period signal by a predetermined reference time period value to produce a quotient signal, and a multiplying circuit multiplies the quotient signal by a predetermined value corresponding to the average number of words spoken by a dictator during a predetermined period of time divided by the average number of words contained in one line of a typing paper. A resulting product signal is provided to a decoder which produces a digital signal corresponding to the product signal from the multiplying circuit. A digital display device displays digital information corresponding to the digital signal.
