    • A light-emitting display device with low power consumption and its driving method. In the driving method of a light-emitting display wherein light-emitting elements are connected to the intersections of positive electrode lines and negative electrode lines arranged in a matrix, either one of the positive electrode lines or the negative electrode lines are employed as scan lines with the other employed as drive lines; while scanning the scan lines, drive sources are connected to desired drive lines in synchronization with the scan, whereby allowing the light-emitting elements connected to the intersections of the scan lines and drive lines to emit light, a first reset voltage is applied to all of the scan lines and a second reset voltage that is greater than the first reset voltage is applied to all of the drive lines during a reset period after a scan period for scanning an arbitrary scan line is completed and before scanning the following scan line is started.

    • In a luminous display method according to a simple matrix drive system and its driving method in which luminous elements are connected at the intersections of a plurality of anode lines and a plurality of cathode lines which are arranged in matrix form, the cathode lines or the anode lines are employed as scanning lines, while the others are employed as drive lines, and while the scanning lines are scanned with a predetermined period, in synchronization with the scanning operation drive sources are connected to desired drive lines thereby to cause luminous elements to emit lights which are connected at the intersections of the scanning lines and the drive lines; in which, during a period of time before, after the scanning of an optional scanning line is accomplished, the scanning is switched over to the scanning of the next scanning line, an offset voltage is applied to charge the luminous elements.

    • An organic EL full color display panel includes a plurality of transparent electrode lines formed in parallel on a base plate; an insulating layer formed on the base plate, the insulating layer covering respective edges of the transparent electrode lines and having openings formed correspondingly to pixel regions on the transparent electrode lines; at least one organic EL material layer formed so as to correspond to the pixel regions and having any light-emitting function of R, G and B, and a plurality of metallic electrode lines arranged in parallel perpendicularly to the transparent electrode lines, each of the metallic electrode entirely covering the pixel regions of the three pixels of R, G and B. The insulating layer insulates the transparent electrode lines and metallic electrode lines from each other in other regions than the pixel regions. In this configuration, the organic full color display panel can emit a specified color surely at low cost.

    • A driving system and driving unit for driving luminous elements has a fast build-up speed from the application of voltage to the point of light emission, thereby allowing fast scanning, as well as the capacity for miniaturization of driving sources. The driving system for driving luminous elements includes a plurality of intersecting anode and cathode lines arranged in a matrix, the anode lines being one of scan lines and drive lines, and the cathode lines being the other of scan lines and drive lines; a plurality of luminous elements, each of the luminous elements being coupled to one of the scan lines and one of the drive lines at a point where the scan and drive lines intersect; and control circuitry for causing at least one of the luminous elements to emit light by executing scanning of at least one of the scan lines and, during a predetermined period of the scanning, by coupling a driving source to at least one of the drive lines in synchronism with the scanning, the control circuitry resetting the scan lines before switching to a subsequent scan line by coupling each of the scan lines to a same reset voltage potential.
