    • Disclosed is a high resolution time-of-flight distance measurement device based on a femtosecond laser, including a femtosecond laser light source, a polarization beam splitter, a balanced optical cross-correlator in which second harmonic pulses are generated using reference light and measurement light, wherein the second harmonic pulse that was primarily generated is incident on a first photodetector and the second harmonic pulse that was secondarily generated is incident on a second photodetector, so that a difference in intensity of the second harmonic pulses is output, thus resolving the time interval of the pulse laser, a controller for controlling the repetition rate of the femtosecond laser, and a converter for measuring the repetition rate of the femtosecond laser controlled so that the pulses uniformly overlap by means of the controller, using a frequency counter traceable to a time/frequency standard, so that a measured value is converted into distance information.

    • The present invention generally relates to a system and method for automatically updating a MIB by using a meta MIB, and more particularly to a system and method for automatically updating a MIB by using a meta MIB comprising agent 100 for generating an OID named as MIB Info Last Change Time, storing it in the MIB and synchronizing the meta MIB by transmitting a Trap when MIB Info Last Change Time is changed; and NMS 200, in case a trap is inputted to the NMS, for reading an information in a meta MIB Info to SNMP Walk Operation, rewriting a meta MIB information of the agent based on the read information, storing the meta MIB information in the MIB and transmitting the meta MIB information to the agent. In accordance with the present invention, the drawback residing in the conventional structure is ameliorated by designing a basic structure of SMI in the form of meta MIB, SMI defining management information of MIB which is exchanged between the agent and the NMS. Therefore, the MIB of the agent can be automatically shared by the NMS via on-line, thereby improving an automation functionality of the network management, in spite of the trend to more complicated and advanced network.

    • A water-cooled stator bar clip for electrical generators and a method for applying a corrosion-resistant protective coating, preferably Sc, Ti, Cr, Zr, Nb, Mo, Hf, Ta, W, Ni, and Al, and their alloys or oxides to existing stator bar end fittings in order to significantly reduce the possibility of leaks through the brazed connections of the copper stator bar end connections. The coatings can be applied locally using various known physical vapor deposition (“PVD”), chemical vapor deposition (“CVD”) or other direct coating techniques known in the art. For example, the coatings can be applied using ion plasma deposition, sputtering or wire arc techniques (all PVD processes) or by using electroplating, high velocity oxygen free (“HVOF”) deposition, DC arc or electroless plating. Preferably, the coatings are applied either to new stator bar clips or to existing clips in the field using a known pencil coater technique. After being deposited, the metallic coatings form a protective oxide layers over the existing copper brazed joint after being exposed to a water environment, thereby protecting the chemical and structural integrity of the underlying copper brazed joint.

    • A method for reducing the corrosion potential of steel vessels and piping used in nuclear reactors, in particular steel vessels and piping carrying high temperature water and/or steam which has a concentration of oxygen therein. A metal hydride is added to the water, the hydrogen of such metal hydride combining with oxidizing agents, typically oxygen, present in the water to reduce the concentration of such oxidizing agents. In the preferred embodiment the metal of the metal hydride is a metal that is capable of reacting with oxygen to form a substantially non-water soluble and substantially electrically insulating compound on the surface of the steel, and in particular is one that may react with and become deposited or incorporated into a pre-existing thin oxide film layer on the surface of the steel to thereby render such thin oxide layer substantially non-electrically conducting.
