    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-selective prism capable of improving the properties of the light-selective film in the vicinity of an intersection of the two light-selective films that are arranged in a substantially X shape by continuously forming one of the two light-selective films without separating at the intersection, enabling adjustment of the size of the image that is created by the light reflecting from the light-selective film formed on the curved surface and accordingly improving the properties of the light-selective prism and a projection display apparatus using the same.
      SOLUTION: A red-reflecting film 266R and a blue-reflecting film 266B are formed in the substantially X shape on joint surfaces defined by the respective side faces of four columnar prisms (right-angle prisms) 261-264. The red-reflecting film 266R is continuously formed without separating at the intersection of the two reflecting films. The blue-reflecting film 266B is, on the other hand, divided into two pieces by the red-reflecting film 266R and an adhesive 267. The surface on which the red-reflecting film 266R is continuously formed is a curved surface.
