    • A jet mill has a disk-shaped hollow part in the interior of the mill body. The hollow part is divided into an annular grinding zone for grinding a material by high-speed swirling air flows supplied through plural air nozzles and an annular classifying zone provided inside the grinding zone and communicated to an exit space for classifying the ground material by the swirling air flows in the grinding zone. An annular first constricted passageway is arranged between the grinding zone and the classifying zone to thereby divide and communicate them, and preferably an annular second constricted passageway between the classifying zone and the inside exit thereof. Accordingly, a jet mill realizing a high classification precision for a desired particle size of ground material with a narrow size distribution and having a simple inner configuration to allow easy cleaning before and after operation can be provided.

    • A laminated film comprises at least an aluminum layer and, superimposed on one side thereof by extrusion lamination, a linear low-density polyethylene layer, this linear low-density polyethylene layer prepared with the use of a metallocene olefin polymerization catalyst and having a density of 0.895 to 0.930 g/cm3 and an MFR (190° C.) of 0.1 to 100 g/10 min, wherein the linear low-density polyethylene layer at its surface exhibits an oxygen concentration of linear low-density polyethylene per se ranging from 1.0 to 1.4 atomic %. The laminated film which has an excellent balance of aluminum bond strength and heat sealing properties of linear low-density polyethylene layers and it can be provided at low cost. Further, a laminated film comprising at least the linear low-density polyethylene layer, the aluminum layer and a substrate layer arranged in this order can be provided at low cost by adding a layer or layers to the laminated film obtained by the extrusion lamination. This laminated film is suitable to, for example, a packaging material for dry food.

    • Blowing apparatus suspensible from one's shoulder is provided with a centrifugal fan, in which air is axially sucked and blown off. The fan has a rotor coupled with the output shaft of a prime mover and a casing common to the housing of the apparatus. The housing consists of front, mid and rear coverings, the rear covering being connected with the mid covering to surround the prime mover. The front covering is interiorly formed with fixed vanes similar to the rotary vanes on the rotor. The mid covering has radial stays supporting a central ring to which the casing of the prime mover is removably secured. The front covering is air-tightly connected to the mid covering to define an annular space, an axial entrance and an axial exit with the conical and cylindrical walls of the mid covering. The rotor is disposed and rotated in the space, in which air is centrifugally compressed along the rotary vanes in the rear side of the rotor to peripherally transfer to the front side. Then, compressed air is centripetally guided along the fixed vanes to flow through the exit toward an axial nozzle.

    • An apparatus is equipped with a non-metallic thick string of a diameter greater than 0.10 inches for cutting wild vegetation in the forest. The string is endwisely wedged into an acute slot formed in a top spool-like casing and directly wound about the cylindrical portion of the casing. The initial portion of the string with a somewhat large bent is received within the hollow portion in the cylindrical portion without disturbing the orderly coiling of the string about the casing. The coiled string is protected by a bottom cover which is detachably mounted on the casing and locked for rotation therewith. The free end of the coiled string extends outwardly from the cover through one of guide ports provided in the peripheral wall of the cover, in order to form a cutting flail with an effective working length. The cover is elastically arranged to disengage from locking engagement with the casing for rotation relative thereto, so that the string may easily payed out as the working flail become shortened through wear.
