    • To provide a connector that enables change in the arrangement of signal connections ‘S’ and grounding connections ‘G’, merely by putting short-circuit pins in the housing of the connector, but without needing any change made in the circuit pattern on printed circuit boards that are stacked one on another to be electrically connected one to another. The connector has a housing (2) and a number of vertical holes (7) pierced in and extending between a top and a bottom of the housing so as to penetrate it, the holes being for insertion of terminal pins (57). A front and rear walls (3, 4) of the housing respectively have horizontal slots (8a, 8b) arranged to form an upper row and a lower row to receive contacts (20, 21, 22), with each slot extending to intersect the corresponding vertical hole (7) at a right angle. One of the printed boards (40) is connected to the contacts held in the slots, and the terminal pins (57) surface mounted on the other printed circuit board are fitted in the vertical holes (7) so as to be electrically connected to the contacts (20, 21, 22). The connector further has short-circuit pins (30) and canalled apertures (9) that are formed in the front and rear walls (3, 4) each in communication with the two adjacent slots (8a, 8b), such that each short-circuit pin (30) fitted in the chosen one of the canalled apertures (9) is kept in touch with the two contacts (21, 22) held in the two adjacent slots, thereby establishing electrical engagement of the one contact (21) with the other (22), thus changing arrangement of signal connections ‘S’ and grounding connections ‘G’ on the printed circuit board (40).

    • An electrodynamic electroacoustic transducer comprises: a first magnetic pole; a second magnetic pole that forms a magnetic gap between itself and the first magnetic pole and is arranged in a space excluding spaces in upper and lower face directions of the first magnetic pole; a yoke; a diaphragm; and a voice coil. The yoke magnetically couples one magnetic pole face of the first magnetic pole with one magnetic pole face of the second magnetic pole so as to support them. The diaphragm is arranged in a space in an upper face direction of the first magnetic pole and in a space in a lower face direction of the second magnetic pole, while its outer periphery is supported by the yoke. The voice coil is arranged in the magnetic gap and adhered to the diaphragm. At least one of the first magnetic pole part and the second magnetic pole part includes a magnet.

    • The vehicle occupant protection system can significantly reduce the peak deceleration of the vehicle occupant even with a small vehicle body. The system comprises a seat fitted with a seat belt which is supported on a vehicle body so as to be slidable in a direction of an input crash load, a first actuator for applying an acceleration of a same direction as the crash load upon detection of the vehicle crash to the seat, and a second actuator for applying an acceleration of an opposite direction from the crash load with a prescribed time delay following the detection of the vehicle crash to the seat. Thus, in case of a vehicle crash or other high deceleration situations, the seat is accelerated rearward upon the occurrence of a vehicle crash by the first actuator so that the restraining capability of the seat belt is enhanced by applying to the seat a deceleration higher than the vehicle body deceleration during an early phase of the vehicle crash. Thereafter, an acceleration in the opposite direction is applied to the seat by the second actuator so that the forward inertial force acting on the vehicle occupant at the time of the vehicle crash is canceled, and the equalization of the decelerations of the vehicle body, the seat and the vehicle occupant is achieved in an early stage of the crash.
