    • In a multi-RAT user equipment autonomous denials are used to stop LTE transmission to free frames or subframes for the transmission of e.g Bluetooth or WLAN signals. The use of the autonomous denials is limited per defined time period. The start of this time window may not be synchronised between UE and eNB. To avoid any synchronisation problems, a system frame number associated with the network entity is used as the basis for generating an indicator for the start of the time period. The indicator is then transmitted to the user equipment, which is adapted to respond to receipt of the indicator by configuring the user equipment to perform no more than a predetermined number of autonomous denials during the time period. The number of unsuccessful transmissions during the time period is then monitored by the network entity, and resource usage within the wireless communications network is selectively adapted on the basis of the monitoring.

    • A method and apparatus are provided to facilitate the selection of a monitoring device for a communication link in device-to-device communications, such as non-cellular communications or cellular communications in a licensed exempt band. A method and apparatus determine the reception resources available for use by a first telecommunications device, and ascertain the reception resources available for use by a second telecommunications device. The method and apparatus then select either the first telecommunications device or the second telecommunications device as a monitoring device to monitor the communications link. The method and apparatus may also change the monitoring device to the other telecommunications device based upon a change in the balance of reception resources of the first telecommunications device or the second telecommunications device.

    • There are provided measures for resource allocation control. Such measures may exemplarily include allocating resources based on a resource allocation assignment including at least an assignment of a resource allocation amount of granted resources for transmission to logical channels, for which data is available for transmission, according to a priority and a prioritized bit rate of each logical channel, and calculating a metric indicative of a result of the resource allocation in terms of at least one of requirements of the prioritized bit rates of the logical channels and the available data of the logical channels. Such measures may also exemplarily include receiving, from at least one device, a metric indicative of a result of resource allocation at said at least one device in terms of at least one of requirements of prioritized bit rates and available transmission data of logical channels, evaluating the received at least one metric with respect to a resource allocation assignment, and modifying the resource allocation assignment based on a result of the evaluation.
