摘要： A voltage tester has an indicator housing and two separate probes connected to the housing by lead wires. One or more visual indicators are provided on the top surface of the indicator housing which wrap around to the sides and front of the indicator housing, and the bottom of the indicator housing has a clip into which the probe handles may be snapped from the sides of the clip so as to hold the probes beneath the indicator housing with the probe tips extending forward of the indicator housing and spaced a distance apart so as to fit into the blade openings of an ordinary wall outlet.

摘要： A security light has a quartz-halogen lamp, a photocell, a passive infrared sensor for detecting motion external to the security light, and a circuit which causes the quartz-halogen lamp to operate at about 50% of full brightness in the absence of detection of motion at night, to operate at 95% of full brightness for a predetermined time interval in response to detection of motion at night, and to be off while the photocell is detecting daylight. A switch allows the user to select a different mode of operation which is similar except that the lamp is kept off in the absence of detection of motion at night. A user-initiated override mode is also provided, which causes the lamp to continuously operate at 95% of full brightness until the photocell detects daylight or until the user disables the override mode.

摘要： A fish tape reel has an ergonomic pistol grip and ergonomic hand grips at an inner periphery of a hollow housing. Fish tape is wound into the housing cavity by rotating the housing with respect to the pistol grip. This can be done manually by grasping the interior handle(s) or using a ratcheted winder that fits into the housing opening and has a lever handle for ratcheting the housing. The reel is held with the housing beneath the pistol grip which has a retainer shoe slidably sandwiched between halves of the housing. The pistol grip is positioned behind a vertical center line of the reel so that the weight of the reel is balanced in a neutral position in which the pistol grip can be grasped with the user's wrist being essentially straight and horizontal. A method of assembling the reel is also disclosed in which the fish tape is attached and wound after the housing is assembled.

摘要： An electrical testing device has non-contact AC voltage sensing, single probe contact AC voltage testing and voltage metering functions. Non-contact voltage sensing is used to detect the vicinity of a live AC conductor and single probe contact sensing is used to determine which conductor of a number of conductors in the vicinity is live. More specific information about the magnitude of the voltage can then be determined using both contact probes. The electrical testing device automatically determines the type (AC or DC) and polarity (if DC) of a voltage applied to test terminals, and provides an indication of the voltage range (AC or DC), without the need to operate any switches or other electrical actuators.
