    • An object of the present invention is to provide an electrical rotating machine capable of securing safety against collision. Included are a rotor having a field winding and cooling fans, and a stator having a stator winding, arranged so as to surround the rotor. A bracket 1 is fixed to a load side end of the stator, and a heat sink is disposed inside the bracket. On the anti-load side of the heat sink, a field circuit unit and power circuit units for controlling the field winding and the stator winding, respectively, are mounted, whereas on the load side thereof, cooling fins are disposed. The anti-load side and lateral side of the field circuit unit and the power circuit units are surrounded by the bracket. Accordingly, a whole of the field circuit unit and the power circuit units is surrounded by the bracket and the heat sink.

    • A magnet-mounting member for holding permanent magnets against side faces of each claw-shaped magnetic pole has pairs of extreme-end and basal-end hooking tabs for preventing displacement of the permanent magnets in either a basal-end or extreme-end direction. The magnet-mounting member is configured such that a function of the basal-end hooking tabs to prevent displacement of the permanent magnets can be disabled by deforming the basal-end hooking tabs. When the magnet-mounting member is forced onto the claw-shaped magnetic pole, the basal-end hooking tabs go into contact with the permanent magnets and deform outward, whereby the magnet-retaining function of the basal-end hooking tabs is disabled. When the magnet-mounting member has been fully pushed onto the claw-shaped magnetic pole, the basal-end hooking tabs resume an original shape to prevent the permanent magnets from being displaced in either direction.

    • Pole core members of a rotor are fitted on a rotary shaft with claw-shaped magnetic poles engaged with one another from front and rear sides. Each of magnet mounting members for holding magnets against side surfaces of each magnetic pole has magnet retaining portions on both sides and a platelike middle portion. Located between two adjacent claw-shaped magnetic poles, each magnet produces a magnetic field oriented in a direction opposite to the direction of a magnetic flux formed between the adjacent claw-shaped magnetic poles. The claw-shaped magnetic pole has a stopper portion protruding inward from an extreme end of the magnetic pole on an inclined inside surface thereof.
