    • A striker for use with a door lock proper has a unique structure. The door lock proper includes a body having a recess, a cover plate fixed to the body to cover the recess and having a striker receiving slot, a shaft extending between the body and the cover plate and a latch plate pivotally disposed about the shaft, the latch plate having a rounded recess which is directed toward an entrance of the striker receiving slot when the latch plate assumes a striker releasing position. The striker includes a base plate and a shank member which extends vertically from the base plate. The shank member is latchedly engageable with the latch plate upon insertion thereof into the striker receiving slot. The shank member has, at a portion thereof engageable with the latch plate, an oval cross section whose major axis extends in the direction along which the shank member travels into the striker receiving slot.

    • A door lock device is mounted, for example, on the door of a motor vehicle such that, when a latch of the door lock device is moved to a half latch position where it barely engages a striker fastened, for example, to the vehicle body, a drive device is operated to forcibly move the latch to a full latch position where it is completely engaged with the striker. The door lock device includes a close lever coupled to the drive device and movable from a non-operation position to an operation position, and a sub-pole coupled to the close lever and movable between an engaging position where it is engaged with the latch and a releasing position where it is disengaged from the latch. The sub-pole engages the latch to move the latter to the full latch position in response to movement of the close lever to the operation position, and is moved to the releasing position upon movement of a door handle provided on the door. When the door handle is operated while the latch is being moved from the half latch position to the full latch position through the close lever and the sub-pole by the drive device, the sub-pole is disengaged from the latch to cause the latch to be disengaged from the drive device so that the door can be opened immediately.

    • In a vehicle door having a retractable window pane, there is provided an improved window regulator for moving the window pane between its full-open position and its full-closed position. The window regulator comprises an elongate plate secured to the door, the plate being formed with at least one guide rail which extends obliquely, at least one slider slidably engaged with the guide rail, a carrier secured to the window pane and mounting thereon the slider, so that the movement of the slider along the guide rail induces the movement of the window pane, guide means permitting the window pane to pivot during the movement of the same, a flexible wire connected at a portion thereof to the carrier, so that the movement of the wire induces the movement of the carrier and thus the window pane, and a drive unit mounted to the door for driving the wire.
