    • PURPOSE: To obtain a good joined part having no defects by a simple method and eliminate the occurrence of a backfire by expediting the timing for retreat of a burner and decreasing the flow rate of a combustible gas upon stopping of oxygen supply.
      CONSTITUTION: When a joined part 3 is heated up to a required pressure welding temp., an oil hydraulic pump is driven to start upsetting of materials 1, 2 to be joined. When the rate of upset attains about 1/2W2/3 of a set value, a burner 8 is retreated from the joined part 3. The rate of upset is measured as a rate of compression of the part 3, for example, by a sensor 13 detecting the displacement of a sliding block 10. The retreating of the burner 8 is accomplished as it is moved up to the dotted line position by the signal from the sensor 13. At the point of the time with slight delay from the start of this retreat, the supply of oxygen to the burner 8 is stopped and the flow rate of gaseous acetylene is throttled, whereby the flame of the gas is extinguished.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a simple method of igniting a gas wherein the ignition can be done safely without creating a large ignition sound, by first igniting acetylene gas while a small amount of acetylene is let flow, and then by jetting standard flow rates of acetylene and oxygene.
      CONSTITUTION: In a pressure welding step, after the pre-pressurization has been completed, a small amount of acetylene gas is let flow from a burner 8. In this time the flow rate of the acetylene gas is about 1/3W4/5 of the standard flow rate from the point of view of the stability of the gas flame and the safety. Then the acetylene gas is ignited, but oxygene is not supplied to the burner 8, and the acetylene gas is burnt with oxygene in the atmosphere. When the ignition has been confirmed, the standard flow rates of oxygene and acetylene are jetted from the burner to heat, for a prescribed period, sections 3 to be joined.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent lack of fusion and slag inclusion and perform the captioned welding by maintaning welding torch at a constant height from the welding work surface and controlling welding speed according to welding current and oscillation amplitude and oscillation times according to welding speeds. CONSTITUTION:A wire 7 is plastically deformed to arc form by a bending habit giving mechanism 16 and turns around a rotating wheel 18 in a wire oscillating plate 17, after which it is sent to a welding torch 12. The torch 12 is constantly maintained in the constant height position from the welding work surface by the signal from a face tracing mechanism. AS groove width fluctuates, bead height fluctuates and the welding current increases or decreases. Hence, with the welding current corresponding to a reference wire protruding length as reference welding current, the welding speed is so controlled that the acutal welding current becomes a reference value. According to the deviation between the actual welding speed and reference welding speed, the oscillating amplitude and oscillation times of the oscillating plate 17 are controlled during welding, whereby the lack of fusion and slag inclusion are prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To repair the start and end tip part of weld bead good in a short time, by fusing and smoothing the start tip part of root pass bead by nonconsumable type electrode arc and forming Uranami bead and then, conditioning the bead on and after the second layer in the same way. CONSTITUTION:The electrode 10 is started in a low arc electric current and low moving velocity from the front point 11 of the start tip part 6 of root pass bead and repairing part is preheated. Next, the electrode is moved in a high arc current and high moving velocity and the Uranami bead 12 is formed fusing the groove root part and then, flat bead is formed pouring molten metal of the part 6 in produced concave part. Then, moving velocity of the electrode 10 is decreased in the same arc current and the Uranami bead 13 is formed by penetrating the root pass bead 4 and fusing the rool part and the form of the bead 4 is conditioned. Molten pool is kept small by decreasing the arc current and slowing down the moving velocity moreover and the unevenness 15 of boundary between the bead and unrepaired part by flattening the repair band 14. Bead end is processed in the same way. Welding defect is removed by carrying out bead conditioning on and after the second layer in the same way.
