    • PURPOSE:To achieve an engine control, always stable, by arranging an intake measuring signal composed of a pair of digital pulses to set a pseudo leading edge delayed by a specified time as quickly as possible when a pulse leading edge is not detected normally. CONSTITUTION:An ECU20 controls an FF19 to express a power supply time to an intake temperature measuring element 13 by a pulse width and feed it to an output circuit 22 to generate a measuring signal Tout by a pair of pulses with respect to a start pulse Tin. Delayed by a time Te1 from the rising of the signal Tin, a first pulse of a measuring signal falls. Te is within the range of Tm1-Tm2 in terms of solid difference. A second pulse also falls delayed by Te2. An interval Tout1 between the Te1 and Te2 is taken into the ECU20 in the form of intake measuring information to calculate an optimum fuel injection. When the first pulse is not between Tm1 and Tm2, flow rate information is taken in form an interval Tout2 between Te1 delayed by Td from the rising of the signal Tin and the falling Te2 of the second pulse. When the second pulse is not inputted, the missing is judged from a control flag when the max. measuring time range of flow rate and the preceding measuring information is substituted. This arrangement enables the smooth continuation of the engine control.

    • PURPOSE:To improve an accuracy in measuring an air flow rate by constituting such that a heating voltage is set to a predetermined value from the building-up of the heating voltage. CONSTITUTION:A transistor 17 wherein a heating voltage for a temperature sensing element is ON-OFF-controlled, with a base connected to a ground circuit by a switch element 22, is controlled to an OFF condition. On the other hand, the voltage of a heating power for the temperature sensing element is compared with a reference voltage by a differential amplifier 24 and the output thereof controls the base of the transistor 17 whereby a heating voltage is controlled to a constant value. In this case, the output side of a phase compensating capacitor C provided on the output stage of the amplifier 24 is set to a predetermined potential when the element 22 is ON. Thus, a set voltage is instantaneously built up from a ground potential GRD up to VCC and then falls to a predetermined value with an inclination determined by a through rate to become stable. Therefore, since the heating voltage that is likely to be intermittently supplied to the temperature sensing element is sharply built up and controlled to a constant value, an accuracy in measuring an air flow rate is improved.

A control device, controlling the base potential of a transistor 17 by a differential amplifier 23, sets the reference of a voltage condition of heating power supplied to the temperature sensing element 12. In this way, a very high accurate engine control can be executed by enabling a bad influence caused by a noise signal to be eliminated.

This prevents reduction in the voltage of a power source through shut off of a load such as the heater 5 when a large amount of a current is needed during the starting of an engine, and permits improvement of starting ability of an engine.

    • PURPOSE: To accurately measure the amount of air, by obtaining a pulsation component from a differentiated value of the output of a hot-wire air flow meter so as to correct the output of the air flow meter, in the case of a method in which a fuel supply amount or ignition timing is controlled in accordance with the output of said hot-wire air flow meter.
      CONSTITUTION: A difference of air flow |ΔG| is obtained from an air amount signal after performing its AD conversion and linearization in a routine called at every 4ms. This difference corresponds to a differentiated value of the air amount signal. The difference |ΔG|, being periodically obtained, can be said the differentiated value sampled at random for intake pulsation because the intake pulsation is synchronously generated with rotation. A maximum value ΔGm among those values is allowed to represent the pulsation amplitude. Ignition timing and a fuel supply amount are corrected by the maximum value ΔGm. In this way, an air amount can be accurately measured.
