摘要： PURPOSE:To exactly grasp a fracture toughness value of a material by a small amount of test pieces, by deriving by an experiment one of a compressive yield stress and a modulus of longitudinal elasticity which can obtain a data from a minute test piece and the breakdown energy amount. CONSTITUTION:A test piece 4 is placed between a pedestal 5 and the upper cover 6, and fixed firmly with a set-screw 2. Subsequently, it is placed on a steel ball 3 and set through a hole 6a of the center of the upper cover 6. A punching test is executed by fixing the test piece 4 to a jig, and thereafter, applying a compressive force until the test piece 4 is broken down by the pedestal 5 and a push rod 1 by a tension tester in a state that the whole jig is in an extremely low temperature. A relation of a load and a displacement in this case is recorded. In this case, there is a strong correlation between impact absorbing energies of 100 deg.C and 200 deg.C of a breakdown energy of a punching test at -196 deg.C, and a fracture toughness value of 100 deg.C and 200 deg.C can be calculated by using each different experiential expression with regard to the upper shelf area and the transition temperature area.

SOLUTION: When a damaged area of a turbine rotor composed of a low alloy steel is mended by an overlaying, several welding layers are formed on the damaged area by the overlaying, and then, a tempering is executed at 620°C to 660°C and the overlaying for subsequent layers is superimposed on the welding layers and then, the tempering is conducted at 580°C to 600°C which is lower than the temperature of the above tempering.

SOLUTION: The material is a compartment material of high Cr cast steel which has a composition consisting of, by weight, 0.08-0.14% C, 0.10-0.30% Si, 8-10% Cr, 0.01-0.60% Ni, 0.1-0.2% V, 0.03-0.06% Nb, 0.02-0.07% N, 0.1-0.7% Mo, 1-2% W, 0.01-2% Co, and the balance iron and also containing, if necessary, 0.02-2.5% copper and/or 0.002-0.010% B, or is a compartment material of high Cr cast steel having a composition in which 0.01-1.0% Mn is added to the above steel components and the contents of Cr and W are regulated to 8.0-9.5% and 1.5-2.5%, respectively. Further, the pressure vessel is formed by using these compartment materials of high Cr cast steel. Moreover, 0.001-0.009% of Ca can be added to respective steels mentioned above. These compartment materials of high Cr cast steel are applicable even under a steam condition of >=600 deg.C.
