    • Trans-1233zd, the trans-isomer of 1-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (HCFO-1233zd) can be used as blowing agents, solvents, cleaning agents, as well as monomers of macromolecule compounds, and can be prepared through the dehydrochlorination of 1,1,1-trifluoro-3,3-dichloropropane (HCFC-243fa) with the help of a catalyst. The present invention is directed to an integrated process is proposed to produce trans-1233zd from 243fa, which is consisted of the following four major unit operations: (1) Catalytic dehydrochlorination of 243fa into trans/cis-1233zd, (2) HCl recovery, (3) Catalytic isomerization of cis-1233zd into trans-1233zzd, and (4) Isolation of trans-1233zd.

    • A method for preparing 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoroprop-1-ene comprising (a) providing a starting composition comprising at least one compound having a structure selected from Formulae I, II and III: CX2═CCl—CH2X  (Formula I) CX3—CCl═CH2  (Formula II) CX3—CHCl—CH2X  (Formula III) wherein X is independently selected from F, Cl, Br, and I, provided that at least one X is not fluorine; (b) contacting said starting composition with a first fluorinating agent to produce a first intermediate composition comprising 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene and a first chlorine-containing byproduct; (c) contacting said first intermediate composition with a second fluorinating agent to produce a second intermediate composition comprising 2-chloro-1,1,1,2-tetrafluoropropane and a second chlorine-containing byproduct; and (d) catalytically dehydrochlorinating at least a portion of said 2-chloro-1,1,1,2-tetrafluoropropane to produce a reaction product comprising 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoroprop-1-ene.

    • Disclosed are processes for the conversion of isomerizable halogenated C2-C6 olefins from one geometric form to a more preferred geometric form. Preferred process aspects involve converting C2-C6 olefin in a cis-form to a trans-form under conditions effective to convert at least about 50 percent, and even more preferably at least about 70 percent, of the cis-form compound to the trans-form compound. In preferred embodiments the C2-C6 olefin comprises tetrafluoropropene, with cis-1,3,3,3 tetrafluoropropene (cis-HFO-1234ze) being converted, preferably at high conversion rates and high selectivity, to trans-1,3,3,3 tetrafluoropropene (trans-HFO-1234ze). In preferred embodiments the conditions effective to achieve the desired high levels of conversion and selectivity include exposing the feed to a metal based catalyst selected from the group consisting of halogentated metal oxides, Lewis acid metal halides, zero-valent metals, and combinations of these, preferably under reaction conditions, including reaction temperature and residence time, effective to convert at least about 5% of the cis-form of the compound to other compounds and to further achieve a selectivity to the trans-form of the compound of at least about 70%.
