    • PURPOSE:To prevent a toner discharge roller from being scratched, and to eliminate the creation of shavings by providing guide members on the top surface of the toner discharge roller, and designing in such a way that a stirring member and toner discharge roller don't come into contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:Via a revolving shaft 17 and sprockets 18(a) and 18(b), motion transmitting members 16(a) and 16(b) rotate in the form of a loop between a shaft 17 and fixed shaft 19. Together with that, the stirring member 20 moves along almost the entire bottom of a toner hopper 9 and along the guide members 33 a and 33 b of the toner discharge roller 14, so that it stirs toner 8 and also carries away the toner 8 toward the roller 14. As the roller 14 rotates, the toner 8 sticking on the surface of the roller 14 is sent to a toner discharge hole 15 to be fed to a developing vat 12. Thus, the surface of the roller 14 is not scratched and the deterioration of printing quality, caused by shavings, is prevented since the stirring member does not come into contact with the roller 14.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of image quality caused by density unevenness on the image by bringing a photosensitive belt into contact with a recording medium on a line which links between the center of a transfer roller and the center of a photosensitive belt roller. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate transfer roller 17 is disposed on a position where the intermediate transfer belt 9 and an organic photosemiconductor (OPC) belt 1 may come into contact with each other on a line which links between the center of the intermediate transfer roller 17 and the center of an OPC driving roller 2. Then, when toner adhering on the OPC belt 1 are transferred to the intermediate transfer belt 9 by the intermediate transfer roller 17, the intermediate transfer belt 9 is pressed against the OPC belt 1 by the intermediate transfer roller 17, and also, as to the intermediate transfer roller 17, the intermediate transfer belt 9 and the OPC belt 1 come into contact with each other on the line which links between the center of the intermediate transfer roller 17 and the center of the OPC driving roller 2. Then, even in the case that mechanical vibration arises, the contact/uncontact point of the OPC belt 1 and the intermediate transfer belt 9 is not moved, so that the contact area can be kept constant. Thus, the occurrence of the density unevenness on the image can be prevented.

CONSTITUTION:A toner concentration sensor 31 measures the amount of toner 8 in a developing device 7 which supplies the toner 8 to a photosensitive body 1. Then when the amount of toner 8 decreases below the 1st specific value, a toner discharge roller 14 is rotated and the agitation member 20 is moved in a specific direction; a motor controller 34 is provided which warns that the remaining quantity of the toner 8 is small when the amount of toner in the developing device 7 does not recover to the 1st specific value regardless of the rotation of the toner discharge roller 14 and reverses the agitation member 20 until the 2nd specific value is reached. Consequently, the shortage of toner can be known and the inexpensive electrophotographic device is obtained without requiring any expensive toner remaining quantity sensor.

    • PURPOSE:To cause toner to fall over a wide range in a developing vat by arranging a toner scraping plate between a pair of edges of a toner discharge port, permitting the upper edge to cut into a toner discharge roller, and providing a control means for varying the rotation direction of the toner discharge roller. CONSTITUTION:At the same time that the toner discharge roller 14 rotates, a motion transmitting members 16a and 16b rotate by means of motor power in the form of a loop between the rotary shaft 17 and the fixed shaft 19 via the rotary shaft 17 and sprockets 18a and 18b. Since the upper edge of the toner scraping plate 15c, provided along the longitudinal direction of the toner discharge port 15, cuts into the toner discharge roller 14, toner falls on both sides of the toner scraping plate as the toner discharge roller rotates; the toner is caused to fall over a wide range in the developing vat. After a motor 22 rotates the prescribed number of times, the direction of the rotation is reversed, therefore toner block does not occur at a specific place in a toner hopper.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the surface potential of an image carrying member and to prevent the increase of the toner consumption by providing a power source which supplies a current to an electrifier and a developing device and providing a destaticizing light source, which projects light to the image carrying member for a certain time after the stop of current supply from the power source, between the electrifier and the developing device. CONSTITUTION:When jam or the like occurs, a photosensitive member 1 is rotated in the direction of an arrow A after current supply to an electrifier 2 and a developing device 11 is simultaneously stopped. At this time, light is projected from a destaticizing light source 38 on the surface of the photosensitive member 1 until the part of the photosensitive member 1 which faces the electrifier 2 at the time of stop of current supply reaches the position of the developing device 11. That is, since light is projected on the surface of the photosensitive member 1 for a certain time after current supply is stopped by the occurrence of jam or the like, the surface potential of the photosensitive member 1 is reduced to the potential after exposure to reduce the potential difference between the member 1 and the developing device 11, and toner is not stuck to the surface of the photosensitive member 1. Consequently, the increase of the toner consumption, that of the quantity of waste toner, and scattering of carrier from a sleeve are prevented.
