    • Disclosed herein is a linear d.c. motor comprising a field magnet composed of plural magnetic poles, and an armature formed by arranging armature coils along the moving direction of a moving element at a position facing the field magnet. One of the field magnet and armature is attached to the moving element, and the other is provided on a stator yoke serving as a stator. Projecting edges for linear guide, each of which projects outside and has a triangular form in cross section, are provided on both sides of the stator yoke, and guide rollers, each of which has an engaging groove in the form of a valley in its side part coming into slidable contact with the projecting edge for linear guide, are attached to the moving element. There is no possibility that the moving element is derailed because it is supported by the projecting edges of linear guide and the guide rollers. It is therefore possible to make the thrust of the moving element greater and cause it to travel at high speed.

    • Stacked positive and negative electrode current collector tabs are bundled respectively in such a manner as to be gathered at one stacking direction-wise side (the upper end side) of the stacked electrode assembly. Portions of the bundled tabs extending from the bundled portion toward a tip side of the bundled tabs are bent toward the other stacking direction-wise side (lower end side) of the stacked electrode assembly, to form bent portions. The stacked electrode assembly is covered and fixed by an insulating sheet having insulation capability so as to cover both stacking direction-wise end faces thereof and surround the stacked electrode assembly in a tubular shape. A portion (slip-in piece) of the insulating sheet is inserted between the stacked electrode assembly and the bent portions of the positive and negative electrode current collector tabs. A portion (outer cover piece) of the insulating sheet covers the bent portions of the positive and negative electrode current collector tabs from outside.

    • A battery module has a plurality of prismatic batteries (2) stacked in a thickness direction. Two plates (3, 4) are provided between each of the batteries (2), and each of the batteries (2) is compressed by shifting the two plates (3, 4) in directions away from each other. A pair of frame members (10, 20) having opposing surfaces (11, 21) extending along the stacking direction of the batteries (2) are disposed face to face so as to sandwich the batteries (2) in a direction perpendicular to the stacking direction of the batteries. Wedge-shaped spacers (12, 22) inserted between the two plates (3, 4) are provided respectively on the opposing surfaces. By narrowing the gap between the pair of frame members (10, 20), the spacers (12, 22) are allowed to advance inwardly between the two plates (3, 4) so that the two plates are shifted in directions away from each other, whereby the batteries are compressed.
