    • A gradation display apparatus includes: a plurality of pixels, each including a light emitting element, a driving transistor, and a storage capacitor; a data line; a reference voltage line; and a control circuit. During a one frame period, the control circuit supplies a data voltage to each of the pixels through the data line, to write the data voltage in the storage capacitor, and, thereafter, supplies to the reference voltage line respectively different first and second voltages successively in this order or reversed order, so that, in each of the pixels, a sum of a light emitting quantity of the light emitting element during a period of supplying the first voltage and a light emitting quantity of the light emitting element during a period of supplying the second voltage equals to a predetermined light emitting quantity of the light emitting element predetermined according to image data.

    • A light emitting element is provided to allow for resetting a shift register while keeping a frame narrow without increasing complexity of a shift register circuit. A display apparatus has a data line, a scanning line, a pixel circuit, a shift register circuit, a first power supply supplying a voltage to the shift register circuit and a second power supply supplying a voltage to the pixel circuit. One end of the scanning line is connected to an output of the shift register circuit, and writing of a data signal from the data line to the pixel circuit can be controlled by a scanning signal from the scanning line. When the first power supply is on, any one of a high-level signal and a low-level signal is input into the shift register circuit for the number of stages of the shift register, and thereafter, the second power supply is turned on.

    • A coin discriminating device has a detecting part, a first switching part, a storage part, and a control part. The detecting part has a first sensor including a pair of coils, and an oscillating circuit, and is supplied with voltage from a power source, and in addition, outputs a detection signal varied by a coin passing between the coils. The first switching part switches magnetic connection of the coils between an in-phase connection and a reversed-phase connection a plurality of times while the coin passes between the coils. The control part compares the detection signal from the detecting part and a reference signal stored in the storage part so as to determine authentication and a denomination of the coin.

    • An ink jet head includes: actuators each including a scanning electrode, a piezoelectric element and a recording electrode and arranged in a matrix pattern of n rows by m columns (where n and m are natural numbers equal to or greater than two) in terms of electrical circuit; and a driving circuit for supplying a scanning signal to the scanning electrodes for each column, while supplying a recording signal to each row of the recording electrodes in synchronization with the scanning signal. The actuators are geometrically arranged in n rows by m columns. A relay terminal, extending in a vertical direction, is provided in at least one inter-column space between vertical columns of the actuators for relaying signals from the driving circuit to the recording electrodes and the scanning electrodes. The recording electrodes and the scanning electrodes are connected to the relay terminal via lead wires extending in a horizontal direction.
