    • A method of manufacturing a rotation sensor is provided. In the method, an insert conductor having a predetermined shape and having at least a connector terminal and a conversion device terminal is provided. The insert conductor is insert-molded in a resin base such that at least the connector terminal and the conversion device terminal of the insert conductor remain exposed from the resin base. A resin connector part is molded such that the resin connector part encircles the connector terminal. Also, a magnetoelectric conversion device is connected to the conversion device terminal of the insert conductor, and positioning parts are provided at a tip of the resin base. In addition, the magnetoelectric conversion device is sandwiched between the positioning parts to securely hold the magnetoelectric conversion device, and a press fit part is formed at the tip of the resin base. Also, an output terminal of the magnetoelectric conversion device is pressed against the conversion device terminal of the insert conductor with the press fit part.

    • A misfire detecting apparatus for an internal combustion engine detects only an ion current due to combustion of an air/fuel mixture regardless of a leakage current when combustion: takes place normally. The apparatus includes circuitry for detecting an ion current generated within the engine cylinder immediately after combustion, circuitry 21, 24, 26 for detecting a leakage current occurring between electrodes of a spark plug 14, a first waveform shaper 18 for shaping the ion current into a pulse signal indicating a combustion or misfire event by comparing the pulse signal with a first threshold value for deciding the ion current, the first threshold value being set on the basis of a level of the ion current upon rising thereof, the ion current being superposed on the leakage current, a second waveform shaper 20 for shaping the ion current as detected into a pulse signal through comparison with a second fixed threshold value which is fixed at a value smaller than the first threshold value, and a selector 22 for selectively outputting as the combustion pulse signal either a shaped pulse signal outputted from the first waveform shaper 18 upon detection of occurrence of the leakage current or a shaped pulse signal outputted from the second waveform shaper 20 when no leakage current is detected.

    • This invention is related to a method for recovery of aqueous wash in a phosphate chemical conversion of a shaped metal product involving carrying out chemical conversion and subsequent cleaning with water, wherein said cleaning with water is performed in one or more stages and comprises a step of withdrawing aqueous wash from a first cleaning stage and adjusting the pH of the wash with at least one acid selected from the group consisting of phosphoric acid, nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrosilicofluoric acid and fluoroboric acid, a step of treating said pH-adjusted aqueous wash with a first reverse osmosis membrane to separate it into a first filtrate and a first concentrate, and a step of neutralizing said first filtrate with an alkali and treating the alkali-neutralized filtrate with a second reverse osmosis membrane to separate it into a second filtrate and a second concentrate, said first concentrate being recycled for said phosphate chemical conversion, said second filtrate being recycled as aqueous wash for said aqueous cleaning, and said second concentrate being discarded from the system.

    • A combustion state detecting apparatus for an internal combustion engine is imparted with facility for determining discriminatively the causes for non-occurrence of combustion.
