    • PURPOSE: To make an end face level detectable easily in a highly responsive manner by installing an X-ray generator, a fluorescent screen and a television camera. CONSTITUTION: An X-ray tube 1 is set up nearby an upper part at one side of two molds 6 and 7 as being faced to the side of these molds 6 and 7. A fluorescent screen 2 is set up in an opposed position of the X-ray tube 1 at the other side. A TV 4 is set up as being opposed to this fluorescent screen 2, and the output is fed to a signal processor 5. In addition, X-rays out of the X-ray tube 1 hits on the fluorescent screen 2 after passing through X-ray transmissive windows 12, 15 and slitlike windows 23 and 14, making the fluorescent screen 2 fluoresce. A fluorescent section is a more upper part than molten metal surface (b), and a section of less than the molten surface is smelting, therefore the X-rays are attenuated and almost not reached to the fluorescent screen 2. In this consequence, the fluorescent screen 2 corresponding to the top of the molten surface is bright but the underside of the surface becomes darkened. This screen image is photographed by the camera 4 and processed by the signal processor 5, and thus the molten surface level (b) is detected.

    • PURPOSE:To move a plurality of sensors by one spherical motor by providing a plurality of sensors for controlling to move a normal line of a spherical gimbal to be rotated by the motor. CONSTITUTION:When a relative distance between a target and a missile is reduced and becomes a distance for sufficiently aiming at the target even by an infrared ray sensor 4 for an optical wave seeker, the sensor 4 is switched from a radio wave antenna 3 for a radio wave seeker to an infrared ray sensor 4 for an optical wave seeker, and a guiding system is switched to an infrared ray tracing system having an excellent aiming accuracy. That is, a spherical gimbal 2 is rotated by a spherical motor, and a control shaft is switched from a gimbal control reference shaft 5 for the radio wave seeker to a gimbal control reference shaft 6 for the optical wave seeker. Thus, high accuracy tracing is again continued by controlling to rotate the gimbal 2. In this case, since the antenna 3 and the sensor 4 are mounted on a peripheral surface of a direction having a different bearing angle to an axis of the missile, sensing failure does not occur.
