摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a solid electrolyte fuel cell having good performance by using a solid electrolyte whose oxygen in transport number drop caused by low oxygen partial pressure on anode side is prevented and conductivity is high. CONSTITUTION:A solid electrolyte comprising stabilized zirconia family compound (ZrO2-CaO, ZrO2-Y2O3) or ceria family compound prepared by adding CaO pr SrO to the amount exceeding the maximum conductivity to CeO2 to form solid solution, whose oxygen ion transport number drop caused by low oxygen partial pressure is prevented, is used on an anode side. A solid electrolyte of ceria family compound (CeO2-CaO, CeO2-SrO) having high conductivity is used on a cathode side. Two or more layers of solid electrodes are stacked. Under the normal operating condition, since the dropin oxygen ion transport number caused by low oxygen partial pressure in anode side solid electrolyte is minimized and the conductivity of cathode side solid electrolyte is high, by stacking the solid electrolytes, cell performance is increased.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent any deterioration of the performance of a solid electrolyte fuel cell by increasing the water affinity of the electrolyte by varying its composition along the thickness direction. CONSTITUTION:The thin solid electrolyte film of the fuel cell of this invention consists of an anode-side low-CaO-content film 1, an intermediate high-CaO- content film 2 and a cathode-side low-CaO-content film 3. The low-CaO-content films 1 and 3 contain 10-40mol% of CaO and the high-CaO-content film 2 contains 40-50mol% of CaO. Since moist gas becomes in contact with the low-CaO-content films 1 and 3, almost no reaction occurs between CaO and moisture. Besides, there is no possibility that moisture reaches the high-CaO- content films 2 after permeating the low-CaO-content films 1 and 3. Consequently, it is possible to prevent any deterioration of fuel cell performance which might result from digestion by CaO.

摘要： PURPOSE:To measure the concentration of NOX continuously and quickly with high accuracy, by vaporizing solid paraformaldehyde to formaldehyde in a pretreatment stage and hereafter, said formaldehyde is mixed with NOX containing gas such as combustion waste gas and measuring the intensity of a visible and ultraviolet absorption spectrum of NO2 after converting all NO to NO2 by oxidation. CONSTITUTION:A part of combustion waste gas sent out a combustion machinery 1 is passed through a flow passage 2a to enter a mixer 3. Carrier gas is sent from a bomb 4 to a vessel 5 filled with paraformaldehyde through a flow passage 2b and the vaporization of paraformaldehyde is carried out in the vessel 5. Hereafter, the obtained formaldehyde is entered a mixer 3 through a flow passage 2c and is entered a reactor 6 through a flow passage 2d after mixed with the combustion waste gas. When all NOX is converted into NO2 in the reactor 6, NO2 containing gas is entered a flow cell for gas 7 of a measuring instrument through a flow passage 2e. Glass windows are provided to both ends of the cell 7 and a light 9 emitted from a light source 8 is passed through the cell 7 to separate into its spectral components as visible and ultraviolet rays by a filter 10. The concentration of the NO2 is measured as absorbance continuously by introducing said rays into a photomultiplier 11.

Ammonia reacts with nitrogen monooxide in the secondary air area to produce nitrogen. If sulfide is simultaneously present, sulfide and oxygen produce radical hydrogen, and the reaction among hydrogen, nitrogen monooxide, ammonia, and oxygen reduces nitrogen oxide. In this manner, nitrogen oxide-contg. waste gas is effectively and economically treated.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce the nitrogen oxides in exhaust gas readily and effectively by adding the gas of dilute oxygen to the combustion exhaust gas prior to addition of a large amount of gas containing oxygen, in the high-temperature non-catalytic denitration method using hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:First, hydrogen or gas containing hydrogen is charged through a line 104 to the combustion exhaust gas from a fire furnace 103 such as of boiler so that the hydrogen becomes excess, whereby the NOx in the exhaust gas is converted to N2 or NH3. Then, gas of small oxygen content such as recirculated exhaust gas is added through a line 105, after which the gas containing oxygen of the amount sufficient for perfect oxidation of unburnt components such as air is added through a line 106. As a result of this, NH3 is preferentially converted not to NO but to N2 and therefore the contained nitrogen oxides may be reduced.

摘要： PURPOSE:To attain high denitration ratio, by addn. of petroleum fuel to an exhaust combustion gas contg. residual O2 to convert NOx into N2, HCN, NH3, then by addn. of air divided into plural portions into the downstream side of the place where fuel is added in order to convert the NH3, HCN having formed into N2 effectively. CONSTITUTION:Fuel and air are fed through a line 2 to a boiler and NOx is formed in a furnace 1a. Addn. of petroleum fuel, e.g., kerosene, propane, methane, through a line 3 converts a portin of NOx having formed in the furnace 1a to N2, and the remaining portion to NH3, HCN etc. The temp. suitable for addn. of the fuel is 1,200-1,500 deg.C, and the required amount of the fuel is about 0.1 time the amount of the main fuel, both converted to heat quantity, fed through the line 2. The presence of residual O2 of about 1% in the exhaust gas is inevitable for the reaction to take place. Then air divided into plural portions is added in plural stages through lines 4', 4'', 4'''. Dilution of the air with exhaust combustion gas by a circulation fan 5 is pref. Hereby, because NH3, HCN are converted to N2, and material remained unburned, e.g., CO, is also removed, the refined exhaust gas can be released to the air.
