    • The MPEG-4 type multimedia and equipment includes a processor which is able to display all MPEG-4 type video stream in real or delayed time. A memory unit holds certain movement vectors in planes, and for the planes themselves on the video stream in each audio-visual portal (12). This enables storage in scrambled format, preventing unauthorised copying. The MPEG-4 type multimedia and video interfacing equipment is used to connect a display to a video source. It includes a processor which is able to display all MPEG-4 type video stream in real or delayed time, to store the video stream, to record the video stream, to send the video stream over a broadcast network (4) or a low bandwidth wide area telecommunications network (10) and to record the video stream on a chip card. The system further comprises a screen interface (7) and a local or wide area network interface (5,9), and a chip card reader. A memory unit holds certain movement vectors in planes, and for the planes themselves on the video stream in each audio-visual portal (12). Interfacing equipment (8) restores the MPEG-4 streams with algorithms originating from information from the hard disc.
