    • PURPOSE:To control the torque variation thoroughly and prevent vibration increase, by introducing the intake negative pressure in an intake passage at the down stream of a throttle valve in the operating side cylinder to the halted side cylinder when the load is decreased in a partial cylinders operating area. CONSTITUTION:A gas pressure leading passage 21 is furnished to link to a combustion chamber 3 of a halted side cylinder with an intake and an exhaust valves 10 and 11 which are kept closed by the actions of actuators 12 and 13, to make it possible to introduce the gas pressure in a pressure adjusting tank 20 to the combustion chamber 3 in a partial cylinders operating condition. At the pressure adjusting tank 20, are furnished an atmospheric pressure lead valve 26 and a negative pressure lead valve 27, to compose a pressure adjusting device 30. Also a link 31 is furnished to link an intake passage 4b at the down stream of a throttle valve 6 in the operating side cylinder 1B and the halted side cylinder 1A, and at the opening of the link 31 to the pressure adjusting tank 20, is furnished the said negative pressure lead valve 27 as a switch valve. In such a composition, the negative pressure lead valve 27 is opened when the load is decreased in a partial cylinders operating area.

    • PURPOSE:To control the torque variation thoroughly and prevent the vibration increase despite a sudden variation of the operation condition, by converting the compression ratio of the halted side cylinder according to the combustion pressure of the operating side cylinder, and approaching the compression pressure of the former to the combustion pressure of the latter. CONSTITUTION:An atmospheric opening passage 20 is furnished to like to a combustion chamber 3 of the halted side cylinder 1A with an intake and an exhaust valves 10 and 11 which are kept closed by the actions of actuators 12 and 13 respectively, and its end at the upper stream side is opened to the upper stream of a throttle valve 6 of a main intake passage 4. At the opening of the atmospheric opening passage 20 to the combustion chamber 3 of the halted side cylinder 1A, is furnished a pressure ratio adjusting valve 21 to switch the passage 20, which is opened or closed by an actuator 22, to composed a pressure ratio variation device 23. The pressure ratio variation device 23 is controlled depending on a required pressure ratio which is found at a control unit 45 based on the engine rotations and the intake pressure at the operating side cylinder 1B.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce a shock at the time when the engine returns from a partial cylinders operation to the all cylinders operation, by opening the intake valve after reducing the pressure in the halted side cylinder by opening the opening valves of the atmospheric side opening passages except the fuel feeding passage at the halted side cylinder in such a return to the all cylinders operation. CONSTITUTION:A gas pressure leading passage 21 is furnished to link to a combustion chamber 3 of the halted side cylinder 1A with an intake and an exhaust valves 10 and 11 which are kept closed by the actions of actuators 12 and 13 respectively, in order to make it possible to introduce the gas pressure in a pressure adjusting tank 20 to the combustion chamber 3 in a partial cylinders operation. In such am composition, the gas pressure in the halted side cylinder 1A is increased and the compression pressure therein is made to approach the combustion pressure of the operating side cylinder 1B. And when the returning time from the partial to the all cylinders operation is detected, the exhaust valve (that is, the opening valves of the atmospheric side except the halted side intake passage 4a being a fuel feeding passage) is opened before the intake valve 10 is opened, to reduce the pressure in the halted side cylinder 1A.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a gas fuel engine which can reduce the amount of NOx generation while enhancement of the charging efficiency and the enhancement of the fuel consumption performance are ensured compatibly. CONSTITUTION:In a rotary piston engine RE which uses hydrogen as fuel, the hydrogen gas is supplied directly to working chambers 5a, 5b, 5c from a hydrogen injection port 51 in the initial period of the compression stroke in the region that the excess air factor lambda lies on the richer side than the boundary excess air factor lambda0 (for example. 1.5 approximately), and over-rise of the combustion temp. of the mixture gas is suppressed, and the amount of NOx generation is reduced, and also the charging efficiency is heightened. In the region that the excess air factor lambda lies on the leaner side than the boundary excess air factor lambda0, the hydrogen gas is supplied to a common suction passage 21 via a hydrogen mixer 25 so that the mixture gas is homogenized, and the mixture gas is precluded from therein generating a rich portion or portions locally, and over-rise of the combustion temp. locally is precluded along with reduction of the amount of NOx generation, and also the thermal efficiency is heightened and the fuel consuming performance is enhanced.
