    • A method, information processing system, and computer program product manage server placement of virtual machines in an operating environment. A mapping of each virtual machine in a plurality of virtual machines to at least one server in a set of servers is determined. The mapping substantially satisfies a set of primary constraints associated with the set of servers. A plurality of virtual machine clusters is created. Each virtual machine cluster includes a set of virtual machines from the plurality of virtual machines. A server placement of one virtual machine in a cluster is interchangeable with a server placement of another virtual machine in the same cluster while satisfying the set of primary constraints. A server placement of the set of virtual machines within each virtual machine on at least one mapped server is generated for each cluster. The server placement substantially satisfies a set of secondary constraints.

    • Systems and methods for resource aware scheduling of processes in a distributed computing environment are described herein. One aspect provides for accessing at least one job and at least one resource on a distributed parallel computing system; generating a current reward value based on the at least one job and a current value associated with the at least one resource; generating a prospective reward value based on the at least one job and a prospective value associated with the at least one resource at a predetermined time; and scheduling the at least one job based on a comparison of the current reward value and the prospective reward value.     • A method and system for expanding a document set as a search data source in the field of business related search. The present invention provides a method of expanding a seed document in a seed document set. The method includes identifying one or more entity words of the seed document; identifying one or more topic words identifying one or more topic words related to a based entity word in the seed document where the entity word is located; forming an entity word-topic word pair from each identified topic word and the entity word on the basis of which each topic word is identified; and obtaining one or more expanded documents by taking the entity word and topic word in each entity word-topic word pair as key words for web searching at the same time. A system for executing the above method is also provided.

    • An improved method of creating a computerized numerical model representing addendum section is disclosed. Computerized numerical model is created by placing a plurality of surface patches at disjoint locations along an enclosed trim line of the product design surface and corresponding binder opening line. Each surface patch is bounded with top and bottom edges coincided with the enclosed trim line and the binder opening line, respectively. Each surface patch is further bounded with two side edges connecting corresponding ends of the top and bottom edges. To ensure a continuously smooth transition between the product design surface and the binder surface, a number of parameters are adjusted for each surface patch to obtain a desired surface geometry. Any gap between a neighboring pair of surface patches is filled with a filler patch using a blending procedure that ensures continuous smooth transition from two neighboring side edges of the neighboring pair.
