That is, the reduction of the pellet is not delayed and the reoxidation of the surface can be restrained by separating the functions of the including carbonaceous material and the outer sticking carbonaceous material to the reduction and the restraint of the reoxidation and limiting the buried depth ratio of the pellet into the outer sticking carbonaceous material so as not to obstruct the heat supplying to the pellet. As the outer sticking carbonaceous material, the carbonaceous material of powdery coke, coal char, coal, oil coke or the like, can be used.

CONSTITUTION:In supplying powder and grain such as an iron ore powder from a hopper 2 through a feeder 3, an AE (acoustic emission) sensor 5 is arranged to the outer surface of the piping 4 directly under the feeder 3. The ultrasonic wave generated when powder and grain collide with the inner wall of the piping 4 or the ultrasonic wave generated when the powder and grain collide with each other is detected by the AE sensor 5. Since the transfer amount of the powder and grain measured by the AE sensor 5 shows good correlation with respect to the transfer amount measured by a load cell, the transfer amount of the powder and grain can be measured with good accuracy using this method even when the piping becomes relatively high temp.
